Meet AppSumo

AppSumo is the first place entrepreneurs start. We help small businesses become Sumo-sized by promoting great software at awesome prices. We’ve helped launch thousands of top B2B tools like Mailchimp, Evernote, Intercom, and Dropbox just to name a few.

At AppSumo, we believe work doesn’t have to suck. We love helping entrepreneurs build a lifestyle they’re passionate about. And that includes you.

The foundation of our culture is treating teammates like adults. This is a place where we actually encourage you to have a side hustle and develop your career at AppSumo. You’ll learn everything about starting and growing a business here—and get paid to do it.

We’re on a mission to open the doors of entrepreneurship to everyone. You in?

Why this is your dream job:

As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll own the design process from beginning to end, creating prototypes with a user-centered approach aligned with our business strategy. You’ll combine UX thinking with design execution to produce modern and intuitive experiences.

  • Work alongside our engineering and product management teams to improve the user experience for our Sumo-lings
  • Design new features, flows, and products from the ground up for our e-commerce platform
  • Practice various research methods such as user interviews, surveys, and usability testing to gather insights into our Sumo-ling’s behavior
  • Collaborate with the content, deal operations, and marketing teams to understand their top priorities and design creative solutions we’re all excited about

In the first three months of this role, success means becoming accustomed to AppSumo’s processes and tools, collaborating effectively with the product team and other cross-functional teams, and contributing to our design system while delivering top-notch solutions.

Past experience:

  • At least 5+ years of experience in a Product Design role
  • You’re a generalist who is experienced in UX/UI design and user research. Bonus points if your experience has been geared towards e-commerce or Saas!
  • Experience in Figma, Sketch, or similar design software
  • A user-centric mindset with a passion for innovative design-thinking
  • Experience working on or contributing to design systems
  • Experience with user research methodologies and making data-driven design decisions
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Hyper attention to detail
  • A strong portfolio showcasing your design process and problem-solving skills

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of front-end development technologies (HTML/CSS, Javascript)
  • Familiarity with agile/scrum methodologies and working in a fast-paced environment

The benefits:

  • Health insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield, plus vision, dental, life insurance, and mental health services for you and your loved ones
  • 401(k) matching
  • 100% remote work model
  • Open vacation (PTO) policy (plan to make your Slack status a “🌴” at least one week per quarter)

Unique perks to take care of you:

  • Flexible hours that let you start late or take that midday power nap
  • Freedom to have a side hustle (we don’t treat that word like it’s Voldemort)
  • Free access to all the software and tools in the AppSumo marketplace
  • An invite to our annual all-expenses-paid company trip (think Costa Rican Resort, not teambuilding at Generic Corporate Venue #84)
  • Free lunch once a week, all the gear you need and work that actually makes an impact
