Here's your chance to join our award-winning agency, ICF Next. We're changemakers, a community of mission driven creatives, communicators, strategists, and technologists. We are seeking a Senior Media Relations Specialist . As a Senior Media Relations Specialist, you will:

• Serve as a senior level media relations strategist.
• Use insights on effective media outreach strategy to produce national, regional, trade and targeted outreach plans and lists.
• Develop monitoring and analytics reports that are key to federal science/technology media relations and communications programs.
• Provide expertise in identifying, connecting with, and building upon relationships with appropriate contacts within top, national-level media outlets and trade press that would be interested in the latest evidence-based findings, to promote proactive placement of spokespersons and key messages.
• Deliver fresh, strategic, and innovative media relations counsel to the client related to generating positive, impactful coverage of science and technology related topics.
• Develop communications materials in support of new or expanding programs and initiatives, including fact sheets, press releases and advisories, toolkits, talking points and other communications products.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of seven (7) years of demonstrated experience
• Assisting in the research, planning, research and strategic development of a comprehensive media relations and/or communications campaigns.
• Working as an advisor and/or consultant to clients and project team members.
• Pitching science and technology related news, studies and spokespeople to the media.
• Demonstrated experience working for or providing support to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) or the Department of Commerce
• Currently holds, or is able to obtain, a Public Trust Clearance.
• BS/BA in Marketing, PR, Communications, or related field.
• Deep knowledge of national, local, science and technology press, and integrated media.

• Excellent communication skills, especially written.
• Strong research and organizational skills, including processing large volume of data.
• Highly motivated self-starter, with ability to manage tasks and handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$96,367.00 - $163,825.00
