Title: Senior Game Data Analyst

Description

We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to lead our analytics efforts across PlayStation’s mobile gaming initiatives. As a key member of our rapidly expanding team, you will take ownership of game analytics and foster strong relationships with project stakeholders. This role will require you to manage major initiatives effectively and collaborate across departments to champion data-driven decision-making throughout the company.

The ideal candidate will bring a robust background in free-to-play mobile game analytics coupled with a demonstrated ability to drive results. You should possess a deep passion for the gaming industry, complemented by a blend of analytical rigor and creative problem-solving skills. Organized and articulate, you are adept at balancing the quantitative and qualitative aspects of game development to optimize player experiences and project outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Conduct rigorous analysis of large, complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights relevant to our games’ performance and user behavior. Generate regular reports and dashboards for partners, providing actionable intelligence that informs strategic decision-making.

  • Predictive Modeling: Develop and implement statistical models to forecast game performance and user engagement. Use predictive analytics to anticipate trends and player needs, enhancing user satisfaction and retention.

  • A/B Testing & Optimization: Design and execute A/B tests to refine game features, in-game mechanics, and user interfaces. Analyze results and recommend product or feature adjustments based on data-driven insights.

  • User Acquisition Analysis: Analyze the effectiveness of different user acquisition campaigns and channels. Use data to refine our marketing strategies and improve return on investment on marketing spend.

  • Cohort Analysis: Perform detailed cohort analyses to understand user behavior over time. Use insights to enhance user retention strategies and personalize player experiences.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with cross-disciplinary teams including Product Managers, Game Designers, and Marketing specialists to align data analytics with business and operational goals. Translate complex data findings into understandable and actionable insights for non-technical team members.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis, ideally within the gaming industry or a related field.

  • Advanced proficiency with SQL and experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

  • Experience with data infrastructure and statistical software for conducting statistical modeling, machine learning, and data analysis.

  • Demonstrable ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to articulate complex data concepts to non-technical partners.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. 
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

This is a flexible role that can be remote, with varying pay ranges based on geographic location. For example, if you are based out of Seattle, the estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
