Job Summary: The Senior Engineering Designer should have a detailed and proven track record successfully completing the design/layout of Digital and RF CCA's. Experience implementing 10+ multi-layer, low loss, spread glass, state-of-the-art high-speed PCBs with experience designing with large FPGAs, state-of-the-art microprocessors, 10 to 25Gbps differential signaling. DDR-3/4/5 memory, Flash memory, PCIe-3/4/5, Ethernet 10/100/1000, USB 2.0/3.0, SD card, RS-232, RS-422, I2C, SPI interfaces including features like UARTs, audio, video, GPS, etc. A knowledge of switching and linear power supplies is preferred. Low inductance/across frequency PDN design knowledge is a must. This engineer should be very familiar with high-speed channel tuning and simulation (i.e., via impedance tuning, press-fit connector attach impedance tuning and crosstalk minimization, precision many / multi-depth via back-drill technology, all aspects of 3D interconnect channel design and analysis).

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In-depth experience with design, analysis, testing, and documentation of state-of-the-art Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA).
  • In-depth experience with schematic design using Altium Designer.
  • Specifies highly optimized PCB stack-ups based on the latest low-loss materials and glass styles.
  • Supports the development of circuit, component, subsystem, and equipment interfaces and procurement specifications.Supports the design of digital, analog, or radio frequency circuits, components, and subsystems.
  • Follows and creates detailed and comprehensive electrical layout rules based on proven statistically significant empirical data.
  • Prepares design specifications, analyses, and recommendations.
  • Recommends test control, strategies, apparatus, and equipment.
  • Supports the interfaces with customers, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Supports the evaluation of vendor capabilities to provide required products or services.
  • Conducts in-house SI/PI design reviews and technical meetings.
  • Monitors project status and progress.
  • Keeps abreast of improvements in electronic engineering SI/PI techniques.
  • Assists in routine and regular SI/PI team up-level training.
  • Support prototype construction, debugging, and tests.
  • May provide technical direction and guidance to Design Engineers, Technicians, or Design Support personnel assigned to work on a common project.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance, if required.
  • Two years of technical training, or equivalent, in drafting and engineering.
  • Eight (8)+ years of printed circuit board drafting and Circuit Card Assembly design engineering experience.
  • Ability to use typical office automation products such as computer spreadsheets and word processing programs.
  • Proficiency in using other CAD software is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications and contractual requirements.
  • Capable of performing technical analyses.
  • Must be able to work long periods at a design workstation.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills required.
  • Experience with PLM tools, such as ARAS, is highly desirable.
  • Mental ability to perform engineering problem-solving and analytical tasks.
  • Must be able to work under project deadlines and associated cost and schedule constraints.
  • Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance.

Cubic Pay Range:

$43.00 - $65.00 + benefits.

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
