This role is the central point of leadership for the Data and Analytics team. Its key mission is to partner with other leaders to improve company performance, solve complex analytical problems and champion data-driven decision making across the organisation.


As the leader of the Data practice at Deputy, you will define the data and analytics strategy and technical work to provide descriptive and predictive analytics across the business. You will also ensure data security, privacy, integrity, quality, regulatory compliance, and governance program for the organisation. 


You will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our data strategy, leading a team of talented data scientists, analysts, and engineers to unlock the full potential of our data assets and drive actionable insights across the organisation. Your experience in AI and machine learning will be instrumental in developing cutting-edge solutions to solve complex business challenges and drive innovation.

Responsibilities - Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Drive the vision and roadmap for data and analytics initiatives, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to evangelise the value of data-driven decision-making throughout the organisation.

Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
  • Provide guidance and support for professional development and career growth of team members.

Data Governance and Qualities

  • Establish and enforce data governance policies and best practices to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance.
  • Implement processes for data quality assessment, cleansing, and enrichment.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance data collection, storage, and accessibility across the organisation.

Advanced Analytics and AI/ML

  • Setup the MLOps and engineering for advanced workflows, including product integrationOversee the development and deployment of advanced analytics models and machine learning algorithms.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI and ML techniques to optimise business processes, improve customer experiences, and drive revenue growth.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in AI/ML and assess their potential impact on business strategy.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with stakeholders across departments to understand business needs and priorities.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, marketing, and other teams to integrate data insights into decision-making processes and product/service development.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts and insights to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.

Experience

  • 8+ years experience in a leadership role overseeing data & analytics, data science and data engineering functions, preferably in a relevant industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing data strategies that drive business impact and innovation.
  • Deep expertise in AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics techniques, with hands-on experience in model development and deployment.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
  • Deep understanding of structured and unstructured data
  • Deep understanding of Analytics tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Segment, Looker or Thoughtspot
  • Extensive experience with database platforms such as MySQL, DynamoDB
  • Extensive experience with cloud based data technologies such as AWS workloads, Snowflake
  • High proficient in data programming languages like R, Python, SQL
  • University degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, mathematics or related field is well regarded, but not a must have for the position
