Senior Accountant

TigerConnect is looking for a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our team. This person is responsible for maintaining timely, accurate financial records, with an emphasis on Accounts Payable, and performing other day-to-day activities and ad hoc projects on the accounting team. He or she will assume ownership of all Payables activities, a range of account reconciliations, financial closing activities, and other projects to support our financial close process. The candidate shall have an in-depth understanding of the financial statements and working knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls. This is a hybrid position based out of our Mexico City office.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Broad general ledger and general accounting duties and responsibilities including bank reconciliations, departmental expense reviews, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, credit card payables, leases and accrued expenses
- Prepare account reconciliations and related journal entries
- Assist in month-end close processes
- Assist with internal financial reporting for senior management
- Assist in the development and documentation of business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls
- Preparing detailed analysis of monthly and quarterly financial results
- Take on ad-hoc projects across all accounting and finance teams/departments
- Change management focus - participate in exciting automation projects and other process improvements
What You Bring:
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, with an emphasis on Accounts Payables, Banking, and Purchasing
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related business or economics major
- Prior SaaS, construction, or tech industry a plus
- Solid understanding of entire Accounting cycle
- Proficiency in Excel
- Proficiency in NetSuite highly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter, detail oriented, critical thinker, with ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work on tight deadlines and effectively manage projects to finish in accordance with established project plans and timelines
- Curiosity and thirst for knowledge and understanding of the business along with a unquenchable desire to fix, streamline and improve process/make things faster, more accurate, and done better. ("Work smarter" mentality)
