Job Description

The Regional EHS Manager supports and assists the Regional Leadership team in the establishment and application of safe practices throughout the DACH region. The Regional EHS Manager works directly with CRB Management to balance safety requirements with production goals to ensure compliance with safety-related regulations, systems, and practices. 
The Regional EHS Manager contributes to create a Regional HSE culture based on ‘care and concern’.

Main responsibilities:

  • Administer and oversee documentation of a variety of EHS-related records and programs, including EHS-related training insurance-related materials, EHS inspections, subcontractor prequalification and EHS meetings 
  • Assist Project Managers, Engineers, Superintendents, Project Directors, General Managers, and any other employee in applying policies and procedures required for the safe management of projects and offices (e.g., emergency phone numbers, medical treatment locations, etc.) 
  • Participate in Pre-Bid Conferences as required to give an overview of site EHS concerns unique to the project
  • Inform all levels of management and associates of the risks and ramifications involved in any operations or procedures that could be hazardous. Work with operations personnel to identify and implement EHS policies and procedures 
  • Exercise the authority to stop work immediately in cases of imminent danger or other EHS violations
  • Investigate, document, and ensure compliance with the HSE-related requirements of CRB, and all Europe applicable standards, suppliers, and internal/external clients 
  • Implement technical guidance programs to identify and remove physical hazards and provide training outlines for field management as needed
  • Maintain a high level of self-education, awareness, and knowledge of all EHS information relevant to the operations of the company and provide individual counseling, when necessary, on matters of EHS

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Occupational Safety, Health, and/or Environmental (or similar) from an accredited college or university required
  • Five to ten years of relevant work experience or demonstrates competencies consistence with the role
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the flexibility to coordinate safety amongst a geographically diverse company
  • Ability to influence
  • Experience managing HSE during design and construction phases of facilities that have complex R&D, Chemistry, microbiology, manufacturing and/or logistics
  • Previous experience related to the enforcement of regulations applicable in Europe is desirable
  • Languages: Fluent in German (C1) and English (B1), French is a strong plus
