Job Description

Ground Network Service Operations Manager (GNS Europe) is responsible for overseeing the procurement, implementation, and operation efficiency of our linehaul network throughout Europe. The position play a crucial role in assisting with network design, improving connections, and determining the optimal amount, placement, and type of capacity to ensure cost efficiency while driving operational excellence and productivity. Additionally, the position lead oversight of local and international legislation related assets rotation and schedules.

This position offers a unique opportunity for the candidate to have a real impact and influence organizational decisions. Leading a team in a highly complex and ambiguous environment, they will be responsible for delivering results at various levels of leadership. We are seeking Managers with a strong track record of delivery, exceptional analytical skills, effective people leadership, and proven project management experience. The role encompasses strategic long-term planning, as well as tactical and cross-functional responsibilities. Building and maintaining strong relationships and communication channels with key global suppliers is crucial to success.

• Responsible for negotiating with carriers to source & secure the most competitive service offering as part of overall carrier strategy.
• Managing carrier relationships including measuring performance and competitive costing.
• Analysing industry trends and monitoring network performance to identify opportunities for proactive adjustments to improve our execution.
• Identifying and pursuing opportunities to leverage, create, or consolidate network demand execution plans.
• Managing network execution, ensuring speedy and optimal on-time customer delivery while building resilience into the plan without creating excess capacity.
• Driving initiatives to optimize our network, continually reducing risks and increasing network speed.
• Engaging with key internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensuring our network is meeting their requirements.
• Become Subject Matter Expert in area of responsibility for relevant industry trends including carrier rate actions, general rate increases (GRIs) and fuel, which influences rates. Integrate carrier supply and demand and other capacity related factors into rate decisions.

The Ground Network Service Operational Manager (GNS Europe) plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing the linehaul network across Europe. This position requires a strong blend of analytical expertise, leadership skills, and project management experience to ensure the highest level of operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years experience with asset-based haulier; planner experience preferred
• Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Fluency in English is required (B2 level)
• Understanding of Operator License requirements preferred
