The Network Engineer serves as the subject matter expert for all corporate, data center, and cloud based networks and reports to the Manager of Network Engineering. You are to provide technical expertise needed to design, implement and support day-to-day network operations escalation. Lead efforts to maintain complex and growing network topology that must meet the needs of a challenging set of development, operations and business requirements. Demonstrating innovative approaches to solving the unique challenges encountered and being able to maintain the security and integrity of the networks is very important. You will be monitoring performance of network systems and advise management when additional processing or technology enhancements are required and perform troubleshooting of systems and infrastructure elements to support the diagnosis of problems

What you will do

  • Provide technical expertise needed to support day-to-day network operations
  • Lead efforts to maintain and audit a rapidly growing network topology that must meet the needs of a challenging set of development, operations and business requirements
  • Demonstrate innovative approaches to solving the unique challenges encountered and be able to maintain the security and integrity of the networks
  • Create and maintain IT documentation
  • Monitor performance of network systems and advise management when additional processing or technology enhancements are required
  • Perform troubleshooting of systems and infrastructure elements to support the diagnosis of problems
  • Support efforts to maintain complex and growing network topology that must meet the needs of a challenging set of development, operations and business requirements.
  • Demonstrating innovative approaches to solving the unique challenges encountered and being able to maintain the security and integrity of the networks is very important.
  • Monitor the performance of network systems and advise management when additional processing or technology enhancements are required.
  • Perform troubleshooting of systems and infrastructure elements to support the diagnosis of problems.
  • Stay abreast of innovations in the network technology market in order to ensure we are ahead of business and regulatory needs.
  • Maintain a high profile within the technology community, contributing to Equifax' profile as an innovative technology company.
  • Engage with 3rd party vendors in order to assess and validate market offerings and opportunities to enhance the Equifax value proposition

What experience you need

  • BS or Associate's Degree or equivalent job experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer professional - Expertise in Network Security
  • Minimum of 5 years of IP network support experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with TCP/UDP protocols, ICMP, VLANS, trunking, routing, subnetting, routing protocols (BGP,OSPF), and the ability to decode and review protocol traces.
  • Minimum of 5 years of configuration & troubleshooting experience using Juniper, Checkpoint, and/or Palo Alto firewall.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in configuration and command set mastery of Cisco, Juniper and/or Arista switches & routers.
  • Cloud Certification
  • Ability to participate in 24x7x365 on-call rotation.

What could set you apart

  • Developed and demonstrated skills in Change Management, Negotiation and Influence, Network Infrastructure, Network Management, Operational Excellence, Technology Troubleshooting and Process Improvement
  • Understanding of cloud technologies (AWS) and tools like Ansible big plus.
  • An interest in working in a DevOps environment along with a desire to develop skills in network automation will be of benefit, as will an understanding of network security.
  • A demonstrable ability to manage 3rd parties is also required to fulfil this role.

  • Akamai and F5 load balancers
  • Aruba Wireless Controllers
  • Network Tools like NetBrain, Tufin, Solarwinds
