The Opportunity:
TrueCar is seeking a talented and experienced Machine Learning Engineer to join our Machine Learning and Data Engineering team. As a Machine Learning Engineer at TrueCar, you will play a crucial role in developing cutting-edge machine learning solutions to improve the automotive shopping experience for our customers. You will work on a range of exciting projects aimed at optimizing pricing models, recommendation systems, and customer segmentation.
How you will contribute to TrueCar’s success:
- Partner with Data Engineering, Product and Design in a cross-functional agile team to deliver products that solve consumer problems in the automotive marketplace.
- Write production ready high quality, maintainable and scalable code. Provide support on production issues as they arise.
- Work on prediction algorithms, sorting algorithms, large-scale machine learning and recommendations and personalization.
- Build large scale functional models, deploy them early, and learn/iterate in order to continuously improve our products.
- Design and analyze metrics to verify model and algorithm effectiveness.
- Keep up with the latest ML developments and evaluate how they can be applied to our products and business needs.
- Work on A/B testing and model performance evaluation to make data-driven decisions and continuous improvements.
Your Expertise:
- Proven work experience in Machine Learning and AI at Big Data scale.
- Experience in deploying machine learning models into production environments at large scale.
- Proficiency in Machine Learning techniques like classification, regression, anomaly detection and clustering.
- Proven ability to optimize and fine-tune machine learning models for improved performance, scalability, and efficiency.
- Strong programming skills with data analysis languages such as Python (PySpark) or Scala.
- Strong data engineering skills, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, and data pipeline development.
- Hadoop/Spark and AWS experience.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams with data scientists, data engineers, and domain experts.
- A track record of staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning.
- Experience in mentoring and leading junior machine learning engineers.
- Strong background in algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented programming.
- Experience in A/B testing of models and continuous deployment to production.
Base salary range: $141,000 - $216,000
