So, what’s the role?

We’re looking for a seasoned Digital PR leader with deep experience in corporate communications in a high growth technology-centric business to lead PR.  Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, and working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, this is a senior-level position responsible for driving the company's integrated external communications strategy. This person will help us grow and make Kin a household name in the markets we serve, and as a category disruptor, innovator among the investor community. You’ll do that by building a communications strategy that maximizes the business momentum, product news pipeline to deliver innovative PR campaigns bringing Kin to life to ensure that Kin is well known in the industry and consumer press alike.

You are creative and resourceful in leveraging social media platforms and your press contacts in tech and business media to advance Kin’s objectives.

A day in the life could include: 

  • Developing communications strategies that build Kin’s awareness with national, regional business and industry media; this involves executing an external communications strategy–inclusive of media relations, speaking engagements, awards, events, content, and digital/social media
  • Building an executive communications program for the CEO; this includes establishing a narrative that demonstrates industry leadership, and business momentum to advance key business objectives
  • Driving engagement through strategic thought leadership initiatives with key external partners and platforms
  • Working closely with the executive team in building the communication calendar and creating newsworthy content
  • Creatively leveraging social media and other digital platforms in establishing Kin as a thought and innovation leader in the space
  • Nurturing existing media relationships and building new ones
  • Partnering with internal communications and other members of the marketing team to collaborate on specific initiatives and opportunities, as it makes sense

I’ve got the skills… but do I have the necessary ones?

  • 10+ years of in-depth, varied experience in Digital PR, corporate communications
  • Deep familiarity with digital PR, and content development strategies. Innate understanding of what makes a content newsworthy and engaging both on social and traditional media
  • Excellent writing skills with demonstrated track record of producing engaging content about complicated topics and ideas
  • A customer-centric, digital native to the platforms where our customers are with a sound judgment on how to craft compelling data and facts based counter arguments to our detractors 
  • Possess strong media relations skills with ability to persuade the media outlets about the problem Kin is solving and the underlying differentiation
  • Intellectual curiosity, resourcefulness, drive, and an eagerness to take responsibility for the continuous improvement of processes and results
  • Experience working in Fintech or adjacent verticals
  • Ability to work closely with marketing, product, policy, and data analytics to craft a compelling narrative to communicate company mission
