Role

We are looking for an Editorial Operations Associate/Staff Writer who can support coverage for our Americas Municipals product. You'll have the opportunity to be a part of a dynamic New York-headquartered global organization, expanding its operations in Asia.

The Editorial Operations Assoc/ Staff Writer will primarily be responsible for monitoring the feed of disclosures that originate with Electronic Municipal Market Access (EMMA) and coordinating with members of the Municipals team to prioritize and delegate which disclosures require publication. They will also be asked to assist in roundups and weekly stories as well as manage key databases for the team.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors the continuing disclosure feed of EMMA multiple times a day
  • Keep tracks of new financial statements, status reports and other relevant notices of currently-existing coverage names
  • Notes credit events to the relevant member of the Municipals editorial team
  • Identifies potential new coverage names for the Municipals team
  • Assists other members of the Municipals editorial team to retrieve EMMA disclosures
  • Manages database of municipal borrowers to determine lifecycle 
  • Manages calendar of events for secondary disclosures, court cases and other hearings
  • Assists in round ups including the Small Debt Weekly and Daily Ratings Digest

Requirements

  • Collaborative team player who is open to direction
  • Adaptive and reliable, this role drives coverage for the Municipals product 
  • Ability to work accurately at speed and under tight deadlines
  • Excellent written English and communication skills
  • Interest in American government, public finance, financial news and markets
  • Experience reading and understanding the three types of financial statements. A background in credit analysis is preferred
  • Experience writing on deadline and managing complex calendar of events and disclosures is preferred
  • Ability to work US hours on rotation with shifts including 7:00 pm to 4:00 am PKT from July-December.
