Job Description

Ingram Content Group (ICG) is hiring a Catalog Improvement Specialist, to contribute to our team in our La Vergne, TN office. In this role, you will work together with the Project Manager and Sr. Manager, Catalog Operations to interpret Lightning Source catalog health and continuity reporting and identify opportunities for improving the visibility of our catalog in global markets via metadata improvements. Additionally, you will work together with the Project Manager to identify and implement opportunities for metadata enhancement. The Catalog Improvement Specialist will coordinate assigned improvement projects. Finally, you will work with different business owners across the company to ensure the catalog -is understood across Global markets.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or directly related year-for-year experience.
  • 1 year of business or data analysis experience.
  • 1 year of retail book, publishing, library, or tangential experience. 

Preferred Skills:

  • Intermediate to advanced experience in Excel
  • Familiarity with ONIX
  • Prior experience with data systems and book metadata

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures accurate reporting on Catalog Quality and Health from varied perspectives, i.e. Channel, market, segment, etc.
  • Coordinates assigned catalog metadata-driven projects including projects touching the distribution business, Library, Marketing and Digital.
  • Partners with the Project Manager to implement assigned metadata enhancement projects, adjusting scope as directed.
  • Keeps up-to-date on metadata best practices, current trends, and optimal SEO practices.
  • Utilizes in-house or 3rd party-built automated tools to apply metadata improvement at scale.
  • Reviews publisher content as needed to vet metadata tools’ efficiency.
  • Reviews publisher title lists and provide metadata suggestions as needed.
  • Monitors and uses KPI catalog health reports to assess areas of opportunity and areas of success.
  • Works with leadership in the evaluation of business processes and requirements, and implements solutions with business users and development teams.
  • Participates in regular internal business reviews for key stakeholders and/or clients.
  • Partners with Sales Analytics to measure sales KPIs in parallel with metadata KPIs.
  • Suggest scalable improvements in metadata optimization and recency.
  • Implements process enhancements that improve efficiency and monitors existing processes, escalating issues when necessary.
