The Opportunity

Due to continued growth, Meridian Partners is seeking a Workday Financials Senior Consultant to lead functional delivery for complex Workday Financials implementations serving public sector organizations.

Responsibilities

Workstream Participation

  • Participate in one or more Workday Financials functional workstreams through the full implementation lifecycle.
  • Facilitate discovery, design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-production support activities.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable Workday configurations aligned with Solution Architecture and Workday best practices.
  • Drive workstream deliverables, timelines, issue resolution, and client communication.

Functional Delivery

  • Configure and Workday Financials solutions across one or more functional areas including FDM, Core Financials, Procurement, Grants, Expenses, Banking, or Financial Reporting.
  • Conduct design sessions and prototype solutions with client stakeholders.
  • Identify configuration impacts across connected Financials processes.
  • Support testing, defect resolution, and deployment planning.

Client Partnership

  • Serve as a day-to-day client contact for assigned workstreams.
  • Build trusted relationships with Finance, IT, and project leadership.
  • Clearly communicate risks, recommendations, and implementation decisions to your leadership.
  • Balance business requirements with Workday leading practices.

Quality & Delivery Excellence

  • Produce high-quality configuration documentation, workbooks, and testing materials.
  • Ensure adherence to Meridian's delivery methodology and quality standards.
  • Escalate risks to your workstream lead and recommend practical solutions.

Mentorship

  • Mentor Consultants and Associate Consultants.
  • Review work products and provide coaching.
  • Share best practices and reusable implementation assets.

Practice Growth

  • Support recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding activities.
  • Contribute to practice development initiatives and delivery improvements.
  • Help expand Meridian's public sector Workday capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • 3+ years of Workday Financials implementation experience.
  • Active Workday Implementer Certifications with a minimum of two certifications, including Record to Report preferred.
  • Experience working in functional workstreams through at least one full lifecycle Workday implementations.
  • Strong expertise in one or more of the following:
    • Financial Data Model (FDM)
    • Financial Accounting
    • Procurement
    • Grants
    • Financial Reporting
    • Expenses
    • Banking & Settlements
    • Business Assets
  • Public sector implementation experience preferred (state/local government, higher education, or K–12).
  • Experience facilitating client design workshops and managing functional deliverables.

Pay Transparency

Compensation for roles at Meridian varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific practice, role, skillset, and level of experience. As required by law, Meridian provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired.

Base Salary Range is $140,000 to $170,000 plus bonus is available for this specific role.

Skills Required

  • 3+ years of Workday Financials implementation experience
  • Active Workday Implementer Certifications with a minimum of two certifications
