The Guardian is seeking a scoop-driven enterprise reporter to cover the White House, based in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have a deep network of sources in Washington, including inside the current administration, and a proven record of breaking agenda-setting news. This position reports to the political enterprise editor. Our newsroom strives to tell thorough, nuanced stories that resonate with a global audience.

Annual Salary: $120,000 - 160,000
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver ambitious stories and analysis on Trump’s agenda and the inner workings of his administration. The ideal reporter is versatile and able to execute a range of stories, from fast-paced enterprise news to investigative, in-depth stories and profiles of key players.
- Stay on top of the big developments at the White House that are important to the Guardian audience, and contribute to the White House daily press coverage from the Guardian’s DC bureau.
- An ability to follow the money driving administration policies and decisions and determine who is benefitting.
- An ability to tell stories that happen after the lights go off in the briefing room.
About You
Experienced reporter in DC with a strong track record of producing scoops and original breaking news
- A collaborative team player
- A network inside the administration and Trumpworld
- Experience covering politics for a national newsroom
- Experience working on an enterprise desk and writing for a global audience preferred
