Job Responsibilities:

Inspect and repair welds (as needed) to ensure quality parts, on time, the first time to meet or exceed our customer requirements, while supporting the Magna Employee’s Charter and the policies and procedures of BGM.
1.    Know and understand Bowling Green Metalforming Quality and Environmental policies.
2.    Responsible for visual inspection (and repairs if needed) of all welds and weld quality.  
3.    Perform minor repairs/adjustments to MIG welders.
4.    Maintain integrity of weld quality to ensure finished product meets BGM standards.
5.    Maintain proper documentation of scrap and rework product.
6.    Follow Standard Operating Procedures established for each workstation to meet required cycle times and quality standards.
7.    Flexible to work overtime.
8.    Maintain integrity of quality to ensure finished product meets BGM standards, to include the changing of weld tips, wire spools, and cleaning of nozzles to ensure efficiency of weld robots.
9.    Maintain proper documentation of production
10.    Support your assigned area and/or any area in the plant that requires support as directed by your leader.
11.    Utilize the systems in place to promote continuous improvement.
12.    Communicate openly with your leaders to escalate issues concerning Safety, Quality, and Production. 
13.    Maintain reliable and predictable attendance.
14.    Perform other duties as required.
 

What we are looking for:

-    High School diploma or GED required 
-    Post-secondary education preferred or 1+ years of welding experience required 
 

Preferred qualifications:

-    Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
-    Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment required
-    Operate standard office equipment preferred
-    Must be able to pass and maintain welding proficiency
-    Must be able to detect and repair (within cycle times) all weld defects within your zone
-    Understanding of weld terminology
