About Kadince

Kadince (pronounced cadence) is a fully remote American software company founded in 2013. In a nutshell, we build tools to help financial institutions track and manage the good they do in their communities.

Why We’re Looking for Contractors

As our customer base grows, so does our team. We’re dedicated to giving each customer the best experience possible, which means having enough people to take care of all their needs. We’re growing quickly and so are the needs of our customers. That’s why we’re looking for contractors in Brazil to help with our development needs, work on full-stack projects, and interact with our team in the US.

Who We Want to Hire

To be a web development contractor at Kadince you should have at least 1 year of work experience. This experience has given you an understanding of basic database-driven web applications and a proficient knowledge of the MVC pattern.

You’re able to adapt quickly to new environments, are organized and focused, can look beyond current constraints, and can provide solutions to complex problems. Simply put, we need a problem solver, not just someone who completes as many tasks as possible.

Even though you'll be working remotely from Brazil, you’ll be joining projects that may involve interactions with our US-based development team. So a strong level of English communication is important. This will make it possible to participate in occasional meetings to discuss project progress.

Let’s Geek Out

If you’re geeky like our dev team (hopefully you are), you probably want to know more about our tech stack. Outside of our dev team, we’re not really sure what most of this means, but we sure hope you do.

Our Core Values

Our core values remind us who we are. They also guide us in the decisions we make. They’re listed in order of importance. If we have a question when making a decision about people, for example, we look to the core value above it to make our decision.

  • Integrity - We’re honest with ourselves and others.
  • People - We understand that people are the foundation of Kadince and we act accordingly.
  • Care - We love what we do and do it consistently and intentionally to the best of our abilities.
  • Remarkability - We provide remarkable experiences to all who come into contact with Kadince.
  • Growth - We accept yesterday and improve today.

These core values should resonate with you. Even our contractors are expected to provide work that demonstrates these values.

What You’d Work On

As a contractor, you’ll work on various projects with the Kadince development team. Here are examples of projects you may find yourself working on:

  • Software bugs
  • Feature enhancements
  • Feature creation

You’ll work with your Kadince contact to get assignments, complete projects, and receive feedback. We’re always open to feedback and suggestions, so if you ever see areas of improvement or ways we might make your job easier, please let us know.

Flexibility

At Kadince, we understand that flexibility is crucial, especially for contractors. We offer the freedom to work remotely from anywhere, allowing you to set up a work environment that fits your personal and professional needs. Our team is distributed and accustomed to asynchronous communication, which means that even though you'll have to communicate with our US-based team, your schedule can remain flexible to accommodate your availability and your time zone.

Compensation

At Kadince, we offer compensation above typical rates in the Brazilian market, paid in USD—an exciting opportunity to work with a global team and gain valuable international experience. Here’s what you can expect based on your level of experience and expertise:

  • Tier 1: Entry Level (1-2 years of experience): $5-$10/hour – A solid foundation to kickstart your career and make meaningful contributions.
  • Tier 2: Mid Level (2-5 years of experience): $10-$15/hour – Recognizing your growing expertise and ability to deliver impactful solutions.
  • Tier 3: Senior Level (5+ years of experience): $15-$20/hour – Rewarding your advanced skills, leadership, and significant contributions.

* These ranges represent an initial offer based on your experience, technical skills, and English communication level. As you consistently deliver excellent work, there may be opportunities to align your compensation with your growing contribution to the projects.

How to Apply

Applicants who stand out are those who are interested in working with Kadince. We’ve seen it all. No kidding, we once had someone ask us in an interview what the name of our company is. Needless to say, we could tell that person wasn’t really passionate about joining our team.

When applying to Kadince, please send us PDFs of your resume and cover letter. The cover letter is your opportunity to tell us why we should choose to work with you but should be no longer than 300 words. Take advantage of this time. Seriously, sell yourself!

Thank you for your interest in Kadince. We look forward to reviewing your application.

* This position is open to candidates living in Brazil.
