Job Description

We are establishing an ongoing pool of qualified resources that could be contacted if and when a suitable contract opportunity is presented. Please note this is not a employment position.

You will be contacted if and when we receive a suitable contract opportunity.  We anticipate that most contracts would be for the Canadian federal government and most of the work to be conducted in Ottawa.

Qualifications

We are looking for junior, intermediate and senior level web architect. 


The resource must have 5 (5=junior, 5-9=intermediate, 10+=senior) or more years experience performing many of the following tasks:

  • Define architecture to be used in web-based projects.
  • Perform architectural modeling to ensure consistency of the design with existing work.
  • Select the development language to be used for the project.
  • Assess the impact of the new requirements on existing web applications.
  • Develop code based upon design and requirements documents.
  • Write code to write to and read from the database.
  • Unit test the code prior to releasing it for integration testing.
  • Monitor the need for architectural changes as the project progresses.
  • Develop test plans for testing the system.
  • Ensure functionalities have been implemented according to specifications.
  • Define assumptions and constraints of architecture with regard to physical structure and data

     collection.

  • Develop post-implementation plan for monitoring/tracking architecture stability.

Most of the experience should have been obtained working with Canadian Government departments.


The resource should have a valid Government of Canada security clearance at a level of enhanced reliability or higher. 


Fluency in english and french will be considered an asset.

Skills Required

  • Five or more years' experience as a Web Architect
  • Define architecture and perform architectural modeling for web-based projects
  • Design, develop, and unit test web application code, including database read/write
  • Select development language and assess impact of new requirements on existing web applications
  • Develop test plans and ensure functionalities are implemented according to specifications
  • Experience working with Canadian federal government departments
  • Valid Government of Canada security clearance at enhanced reliability level or higher
  • Fluency in English and French
  • Experience with technologies such as ActiveX, EbXML, HML, HTML, Java, JavaScript, .NET, Perl, XML
