Job DescriptionThe Wardrobe Supervisor will be responsible for supervising all wardrobe related activities during the production. Primary duties and responsibilities will be to:
• Monitor continuity book for details of which costumes are needed for each scene, keeping up to date with any last-minute changes in schedules or scripts
• Manage wardrobe budget
• Organise the transportation of costumes to sets or locations
• Ensure that all items of equipment, e.g., sewing machines, steamers, irons, etc., are available and in working order, and that costumes are cleaned, ironed and ready for use
• Ensure that all clothes are labelled and prepared for dressing and that accurate lists are kept of costume accessories such as jewellery
• Supervise the maintenance and cleaning of costumes during breaks and between shooting days
• Coordinate the return of hired outfits and the sale or disposal of any remaining costumes
QualificationsQualifications and competencies include:
• Bachelor degree in in Costume Design, Fashion, Theatre Design or Performing Arts (Production) or related discipline, or at least 6 years’ production experience
• At least 3 years’ experience working with costumes in theatre or television
• Good memory and keen attention to detail
• Excellent leadership, management and motivational skills
• Ability to deal proactively with last-minute changes
• Ability to hand sew to make any emergency repairs
• Knowledge of how to dress Actors
• Ability to gauge clothing sizes at a glance
