Job Description

The Vice President of Software Engineering combines technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic thinking to drive the success of the software engineering department and contribute to the overall success of the organization and enable delivery of high-quality software products to county government clients. At Teleosoft, this role includes day to day hands on responsibility in software development, devops, and Cloud Architecture design and implementation.

You will be expected to:

• Provide strategic leadership and vision for the software engineering team.
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing software engineering team, manage contractor relationships as needed.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, implement best practices, ensure effective and reliable DevOps processes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with senior leadership, product management, project management and other stakeholders.
• Lead the architectural design and technical direction of software systems.
• Ensure that Teleosoft software solutions are: Deliverable, Configurable, Repeatable, Maintainable, and Portable.
• Ensure security and scalability of software solutions.
• Establish and enforce quality assurance and testing processes.
• Develop and manage the software engineering budget.
• Recruit and retain top engineering talent.
• Communicate regularly with executive leadership, stakeholders, and clients to provide updates on software development initiatives, timelines, and challenges.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with software development projects.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and security protocols.
• Provide oversight and direction to Cloud product architecture, infrastructure, and solution design.

Desired Experience

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a leadership role within software engineering.
• Strong technical background with expertise in software architecture, design, and development.

• Demonstrated success in managing large-scale software development projects.
