Really American Media — a grassroots, cross-platform brand with decades of combined media experience — are hiring Political Social Media Hosts to create short-form video for Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. Hosts will break down current political events for a multi-platform progressive audience while applying proven vertical social media strategies in punchy, fast-moving clips built for how people actually watch news now.
Unlike long-form commentary channels, this role is all about short-form video: 30 seconds or less. We're looking for creators with successful TikToks or Instagram reels who can quickly identify popular political news stories and turn them into a sharp, scroll-stopping clip that informs and moves people to share.
The ideal candidates will be practiced pros at TikTok or Instagram reels. Familiarity with mobile editing tools is a must (Edits or similar). Hosts will be expected to produce new videos daily, to have energetic and charismatic on-camera presentations, and to speak comfortably and clearly about current political events in a tight, compelling format.
Both full-time and part-time applications will be considered. Pay is dependent upon experience and output. While hosts will receive floor compensation for each video, financial incentives are available for successful hosts whose content performs. Hosts will be classified as independent contractors. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (NOT NECESSARY):
Disciplined DAILY work ethic; demonstrated experience creating short-form political video for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and/or Facebook; competence in video editing; strong on-camera public speaking.
