We are hiring a Venture Capital Associate to grow our network of investors who invest directly in private companies, and to manage those relationships over time.
Pairs is a global network of family offices, institutional investors, VCs and angels. We screen deal flow very tightly, and the opportunities that clear our diligence go out to the network. We invest alongside them too.
The roleThis role sits on the investor side of Pairs. You bring in investors who back companies directly, understand what each of them looks for, and introduce them to opportunities that fit. You also open new investor relationships every month, using the same approach that built your existing ones.
You know which investors in your network have made a direct investment in the past year, what they invest in, and at what stage and check size. When a founder needs qualified investor meetings at short notice, you know whom to approach first.
We are not raising a fund. Our investors invest directly in companies, so a network made up mainly of fund LPs or institutional mandates is not the right fit for this role, however strong it is.
Our platform handles the pipeline, research and follow-up. Your time goes to investor conversations, and to judging which investors are ready to commit capital.
You will work directly with the two co-founders and our investor team. The organisation is flat, so you will see first-hand how we screen opportunities, what we decline and why.
Your current title matters less than the quality of your relationships. We are looking for someone who has built those relationships personally and can explain exactly how.
What you will ownYour investor relationships. The investors you bring and those you add here, kept current and qualified. They remain yours.
Network growth. New relationships every month with family offices, high-net-worth individuals and angel investors who are new to Pairs.
Investor matching. A clear understanding of what each investor looks for, so the opportunities you share are relevant.
Ongoing engagement. Staying useful to investors between opportunities, so they continue to work with us.
Have built your investor relationships personally, and can explain how each one began: direct outreach, referrals you cultivated, or events and networks you engaged with deliberately.
Have taken at least one investor from a first conversation to a direct investment in a private round, and can walk us through the process.
Understand what your investors invest in: stage, check size, sector, and the reasons they decline.
Treat discretion as second nature. Please do not include any investor names in your application.
Use AI tools daily, with clear judgement about where they improve your work and where they would compromise its quality.

- Demonstrates discretion and does not disclose investor names in the application
- Uses AI tools daily with sound judgment about appropriate applications
