The Position:

The Transitions Specialist works within the Transitions Team on projects that support firms who are being acquired by Merit and transitioning their practice to our custodians at PKS, Fidelity, and Schwab. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and adaptable, with a strong sense of initiative. This role requires someone who can balance precision with people skills—supporting teams through every step of the onboarding process. Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with preferred custodian(s) to obtain required documents
  • Work with office personnel to obtain client data for prepopulating custodian forms
  • Prepare custodian/Merit forms for client signatures
  • Ensure all documents are accurate and sent out by deadline
  • Monitor and resolve not-in-good-order paperwork
  • Track incoming packets and circulate timely status updates to the newly acquired firm
  • Assist with custodian user access setup and maintenance
  • Assist with custodian rep code setup and maintenance
  • Assist with preparation of custodian registration conversion forms
  • Assist on projects as needed

Compensation: Merit Financial Advisors offers competitive compensation based on experience, qualifications, location, and market data. Where required by applicable law, salary ranges will be provided during the hiring process.



Requirements

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in New Accounts or Operations, ideally in Transitions
  • Wealth Management M&A experience and familiarity with industry custodians (PKS, NFS, Fidelity, Schwab, etc.) preferred
  • Experience supporting advisors in various lines of business (wire house, regional, independent, RIA, institutions and retirement plans)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, OneNote and SharePoint)
  • Proficiency in DocuSign
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize and shift priorities instantaneously
  • Multi-tasker in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive, critical thinker who can work with little direction once given a project
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and completely independent
  • Demonstrate excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Possess a willingness to learn firm technologies

Skills Required
