Job Responsibilities:

Salary Range: $37.00-$40.00/Per Hour

  • Retrieve and review tooling prints for material and machining requirements.
  • Perform all aspects of the tool/die build from the locating of material required to final assembly, try-out and adjustment of the tooling components.
  • Responsible for performing modifications on older, existing tools and dies to maintain customer requirements.
  • Responsible for tool and die repair as required.
  • Some work on prototype tools and dies is required.
  • Work is completed through use of milling machines, drill presses, assorted grinders, band and cut-off saws, lathes, lay-out tables, measuring equipment and heat treat ovens.
  • Responsible for the completion of daily time sheets, die sheets and die maintenance reports.
  • Responsible for the completion of order sheets for required parts.
  • Other duties as may be assigned by the Toolroom Supervisor or designate.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum grade 12 diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Post secondary education with full certification as a Tool & Die Maker with the associated apprenticeship is required.
  • Ability to create and interpret prints is required
  • Knowledge of CNC principles
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM would be a definite asset
  • Education or equivalent experience in hydraulics/pneumatics, electrical and/or welding is an asset
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are required.
  • Attention to detail is key
  • An individual in this position must be capable of initiating and directing their work with minimal or no supervision.
