Join our Operations Engineering Team as a Thermo-Mechanical CM Support Engineer, where you will be responsible for developing, qualifying, and sustaining advanced mechanical assembly and thermal management processes used in high-performance electronic and optical products. You will work across the entire product lifecycle, from New Product Introduction (NPI) through high-volume manufacturing, driving process optimization, yield improvement, and root cause analysis.
In this role, you will support mechanical assembly operations, thermal interface implementation, heat sink integration, assembly tooling development, warpage characterization, dimensional verification, and advanced mechanical inspection processes. You will leverage analytical techniques including CMM inspection, dimensional metrology, cross-sectioning, microscopy, thermal characterization, and reliability testing to ensure robust manufacturing processes and superior product quality. Responsibilities- Develop and qualify manufacturing processes for mechanical and thermo-mechanical assemblies in communication products.
- Support mechanical assembly technologies including module integration, fastening, adhesive bonding, and joining processes.
- Design and optimize assembly tooling, fixtures, and poka-yoke solutions for efficiency and quality.
- Develop and validate thermal assembly solutions involving TIMs, heat sinks, and cooling systems.
- Perform thermo-mechanical characterization, qualification, and reliability testing.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) from prototype builds through volume manufacturing.
- Conduct warpage, dimensional, and metrology analysis using advanced techniques.
- Define inspection methods, acceptance criteria, GD&T, and perform tolerance stack-up analyses.
- Lead root-cause investigations for mechanical, thermal, dimensional, and reliability issues, driving improvements.
- Collaborate with design teams and partners to implement DFM/DFA/DFR principles and develop process documentation.
- BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials Science, or Thermal Engineering.
- Strong expertise in mechanical assembly, manufacturing tooling, thermal management, and high-reliability electronic product manufacturing
- Manufacturing automation Industry 4.0 and Global supplier Collaboration.
- Hands-on experience with thermal characterization, warpage/dimensional analysis, GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and advanced metrology.
- Experience supporting NPI and high-volume manufacturing with strong knowledge of reliability requirements, material behavior, and product qualification standards
- Experience with thermo-mechanical simulation, thermal analysis.
