Job Description – Technology Procurement Specialist 

As a Technology Procurement Specialist, you will manage end-to-end procurement activities for Technology categories (IT, Digital and Information Security) across the EFG Group, ensuring cost-effective, compliant and timely sourcing of goods, services and solutions that underpin our core banking operations.

Operating as an experienced individual contributor, you will independently lead complex sourcing initiatives from needs identification through to contract execution, advising Technology and corporate stakeholders on procurement strategy and best practice. You will play a key role in optimising total cost of ownership, mitigating supplier risk and promoting standardised procurement processes, regulations and tools across jurisdictions.

In this role, you will contribute to the short- to medium-term performance of the Group Procurement function by driving continuous improvement, enhancing spend visibility and supporting the adoption of data-driven and AI-enabled procurement practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end sourcing and negotiation for Technology categories (IT, Digital, Information Security) at group level, securing competitive pricing, service levels and contractual conditions in line with approved budgets and risk appetite.

• Manage the full procurement lifecycle for Technology goods and services, from needs identification and specification definition with Technology stakeholders through to contract signature and purchase order creation, ensuring compliance with group procurement policies and delegated authorities.

• Translate business requirements into sourcing strategies, working closely with IT, Digital and Information Security teams to identify purchasing needs, define technical and commercial criteria, and recommend preferred suppliers based on price, quality, delivery capacity and ethical/environmental standards.

• Use data analytics to assess spend patterns, supplier performance and market trends, identifying cost reduction, value optimisation and risk mitigation opportunities, and supporting budget planning and savings tracking for Technology procurement.

• Collaborate with key control and support functions (Technology, Finance, Legal, Risk, Compliance and Operations) to manage inventory, reconcile invoices, resolve discrepancies and verify delivery against specifications, escalating material risks or deviations where required.

• Promote and standardise procurement processes, regulations and tools across the EFG Group, supporting stakeholder change management and contributing to process optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Advise stakeholders on procurement best practices, group policies and Technology supplier markets, acting as a trusted partner to senior Technology and corporate stakeholders in an international environment.

• Contribute to Technology procurement projects and initiatives, including category strategies, implementation of new tools and continuous improvement programmes, with a particular focus on integrating artificial intelligence tools into procurement workflows in line with group standards and risk guidelines.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education

• Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or an equivalent field.

• Preferred: Further education in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Finance or Technology-related disciplines.

Professional Experience

• Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in operational and strategic procurement in the Technology area (IT, Digital, Information Security), gained within a Procurement department, preferably in banking and an international environment.

• Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end RFP processes, including tenders, bid comparisons and supplier selection for Technology categories.

• Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders such as Technology, Finance, Legal, Risk, Compliance and Operations in a complex, multi-jurisdictional organisation.

Technical / Functional Knowledge

• Strong expertise in Technology procurement, including sourcing of IT, Digital and Information Security goods and services and understanding of related supplier markets.

• Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to secure favourable commercial terms while aligning with governance and risk requirements.

• Solid analytical skills, including spend analysis, market assessment and data-driven procurement decision-making.

• Financial acumen, including budgeting, total cost of ownership and pricing structures for Technology products and services.

• Robust background in RFP processes (tenders, bid comparisons, supplier selection) in line with internal governance.

• Openness to artificial intelligence tools and willingness to integrate them into procurement workflows in line with group standards.

Languages

• Fluency in English, spoken and written, is required.

• Preferred: fluency in at least one Swiss national language.
