Position Overview

The Systems & Network Administrator plays a critical role in supporting the daily operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the school's technology infrastructure. This position is responsible for administering enterprise systems, network infrastructure, endpoint management, and cloud services while ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient technology services for faculty, staff, students, and families.

Working collaboratively with the Technology Department, the Systems & Network Administrator provides technical experience for infrastructure operations, assists with technology projects, supports cybersecurity initiatives, and serves as an escalation point for complex technical issues. The position also helps manage the school's network, servers, wireless infrastructure, identity services, and Mobile Device Management (MDM) platform while contributing to long-term technology planning.

The Systems & Network Administrator serves as an important member of the school's Technology Department working closely with the Senior Network Administrator. This is a full-time, 12-month, classified, exempt position that reports to the Director of Technology. Flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, are required.

Key Responsibilities

Systems & Infrastructure Administration

  • Administer, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot the school's wired and wireless network infrastructure.
  • Configure, maintain, and support switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, and related network services.
  • Assist with administration of cloud platforms including Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, and related identity services.
  • Manage enterprise server infrastructure, storage systems, virtualization platforms, and cloud-based services.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, backups, and infrastructure health to ensure reliable operations.
  • Assist with disaster recovery planning, backup validation, and business continuity initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure, configurations, procedures, and network diagrams.

Endpoint Management & Security

  • Administer the school's Mobile Device Management (MDM) platform, including enrollment, deployment, compliance monitoring, application management, and device lifecycle.
  • Configure and deploy macOS, iPadOS, tvOS, Windows, and other endpoint devices.
  • Manage operating system updates, software deployments, endpoint security, and device compliance.
  • Assist in implementing cybersecurity best practices, vulnerability remediation, endpoint protection, and identity security.
  • Monitor security alerts and assist in responding to technology incidents as needed.

Technology Operations & Service Delivery

  • Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues received through the Technology Department.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity, authentication, infrastructure, and systems-related issues.
  • Support classroom technology, audiovisual systems, printers, and instructional technology infrastructure.
  • Assist with the administration of the school's managed print environment and coordinate vendor support when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate ticket documentation and contribute to technical knowledge base resources.
  • Collaborate with other Technology Department staff to ensure timely and effective support services.

Technology Infrastructure & Projects

  • Participate in technology implementations, upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure projects.
  • Assist with technology refresh planning, hardware evaluations, and lifecycle management.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements that increase reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with technology standards, documentation, policies, and operational procedures.
  • Support technology needs for school events, meetings, and special programs.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Technology.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three or more years of experience supporting enterprise network and systems infrastructure.
  • Experience administering Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, or similar cloud platforms.
  • Experience administering Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms; Mosyle experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing, switching, and wireless networking.
  • Experience supporting macOS, iOS, tvOS, Microsoft Windows, and enterprise endpoint management.
  • Working knowledge of virtualization technologies, server administration, storage systems, and cloud services.
  • Experience with cybersecurity best practices, endpoint security, identity management, and backup solutions.
  • Ability to install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot technology infrastructure and related hardware.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, project management, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while working independently and collaboratively.

Standard On-Campus Hours

Start: M - F by 7:30 AM
End: M -Th 3:30 PM, F 3:00 PM

Salary Range: $28.84 - $33.65 per hour.
