Position Overview
TAP Engineering is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the design, development, and implementation of complex systems in a mission-focused environment. This role covers the full systems lifecycle, from requirements definition through integration and implementation, working closely with engineering teams and government stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform requirements and functional analysis to support system design
- Develop and evaluate solution designs to meet mission and technical requirements
- Conduct risk analysis and support risk management activities
- Support system testing, integration, and troubleshooting efforts
- Support system implementation and ensure alignment with operational requirements
- Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders across the systems lifecycle
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance with appropriate polygraph
- ABET-accredited engineering degree required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 3 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree and 1 year of relevant experience, or a Doctoral degree and no experience
- OR, with a degree in a relevant technical field (for example, computer science, mathematics, or physics): Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience, or a Master's or Doctoral degree and 1 year of relevant experience
Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position is $140,000–$180,000, based on relevant experience, qualifications, and other applicable factors. The compensation range provided is a general guideline and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
Clearance Requirement
This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance with appropriate polygraph. Clearance processing and maintenance will be conducted in accordance with U.S. Government requirements.

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program and 7 years of relevant experience
- Master's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program and 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent doctoral degree with 3 years of relevant experience
- Relevant experience in engineering systems across their lifecycle, including conception, design, development, testing, deployment, operations, maintenance, support, and decommissioning
- Active TS/SCI clearance with appropriate polygraph
