We are currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineering Advisor to join our team. In this role you will be a change agent by working on the TFM2 contract. TFM2 provides modernization and life cycle support of Information Technology infrastructure that host national implementation of the FAA's Traffic Flow Management (TFM) functionality. It also focuses on long term engineering services and the development of new functional enhancements that increase the capability of Traffic Flow Management.

 

 

Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Designs systems architecture for new or existing computer system
  • Creates, plans, and configures highly complex engineering systems for optimal operations
  • Creates and engineers highly advanced systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end
  • Designs and engineers highly complex infrastructures including installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools
  • Creates and designs highly complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis
  • Performs continual maintenance and creates highly ingenious solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problems
  • Provides critical insight and guidance for the preparation and maintenance of all documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects
  • Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes
  • Performs complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, model formulation, computer architecture analysis and design, and digital systems engineering
  • Invents innovative ways to drive production operational efficiency
  • Drives scalability and operability of supported systems/infrastructure
  • Implements, manages, and enhances Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline tools
  • Creates, maintains, and reviews Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Desired State Configuration (DSC) and/or Puppet configuration management tools to support the provisioning infrastructure
  • Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance
  • May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
  • May serve as a team or task lead
  • Recognized as an industry leader in systems engineering

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree (in engineering, mathematics, or science) + 12 yrs. related experience

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with performing engineering and/or scientific research, studies, and analyses of specified technological, scientific, programmatic and operational issues
  • Significant experience with large-scale data architecture, data modeling, database design, and data systems implementation
  • Experience across enterprise systems
  • Experience with load balancing, distributed computing, and cloud architectures
  • Advanced Linux experience
  • Solid understanding of network and system development and deployment
  • Excellent communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with team members and customers
  • Dependable
