About Attotude

AttoTude is at the forefront of revolutionizing data centers through advanced interconnect technology based on wired THz transceivers. By adapting the fiber from photonics and advancing today's ASICs to THz, our innovative AttoEngine eliminates networking bottlenecks, enabling high-speed interconnects for AI data centers. We are committed to overcoming existing networking bottlenecks to unleash the full potential of artificial intelligence.

About the Role

We are seeking an innovative System Design Engineer (R&D) to support the development of next-generation semiconductor processes and device technologies. In this role, you will architect, model and design novel circuits, specify component requirements and system performance. You’ll collaborate closely with scientists, integration engineers, and design teams to translate new concepts into scalable, manufacturable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Architecture: Design and specification of high-speed digital and analog circuits for high-speed communications. Modelling of component and system behavior, as well as compensation circuits.
  • Technology Development: Partner with device and integration teams to define requirements and validate implemented circuits.
  • Data Analysis & Characterization: Analyze measurement results and refine models to assess system impact. Work with design teams to suggest improvements.
  • Collaboration: Interface with cross-functional R&D groups, equipment vendors, and academic or industrial research partners to evaluate new circuits and signal processing techniques.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Author detailed system-level documentation, and technical publications. Support transfer of knowledge to other design teams.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving working methodology, reproducibility and tracking of device parameters.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Information Sciences, Applied Physics, or a related field.
  • Modelling experience in high-speed electrical circuits for communications. Knowledge of CTLE, FFE, DFE, MLSE, clock recovery and carrier recovery.
  • Experience in linear and non-linear model and system design using Matlab, Python and C++
  • Knowledge of high-speed electrical components such as VCOs, Mixers and Amplifiers.
  • Experience in device characteristics such as reflections, dispersion, loss, noise-figure and s-parameters.
  • Strong analytical skills and interpretation of experimental data.
  • Excellent technical communication and documentation abilities.
  • Fluent in English

Preferred:

  • Experience in design of baseband and optical or THz components.
  • Knowledge of waveguide characteristics and modelling.
  • Experience in bit-accurate modelling of digital circuits
  • Knowledge of forward-error correction such as Reed-Soloman, BCH and LDPC.
  • Experience with novel device technologies (e.g., advanced CMOS, Si photonics, waveguides).
  • Familiarity with technology transfer from R&D to manufacturing environments.
