Summary

Qualified applicants must have the ability to program, set-up, and operate on Multi axis CNC Machines to support medical device manufacturing. Applicant must be proficient with all the following machines:

  • Citizen Swiss Lathe
  • All forms of Manual Machining

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow the instructions on the Process sheet, Drawings and/or Programs.
  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished instrument/device, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Manufactures and inspects custom instruments to customer drawing and specifications.
  • Assemble complex instruments after manufacturing.
  • Records inspected dimensions, completes all documentation of work performed and accurately records time through Visual Labor tickets.
  • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines.
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
  • Safely starts and operates machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required. Verifies conformance of finished instrument/device to specifications.
  • Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings and programmed control data.
  • Confers with engineers, technicians, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
  • Interface/communicate with Quality, Engineering and other team members as needed.
  • Must maintain a clean and efficient workstation while maintaining safety standards and production efficiency levels.
  • Keep machine tools clean and in good working order.
  • May train employees within the department.
  • Help others trouble shoot their work.
  • Responsible for assuring that assigned activities are performed in accordance with Warsaw Quality System procedures.

  • A willingness to be punctual, observe prescribed work periods, and have an acceptable attendance record.

  • An ability to cooperate, work and communicate with coworkers, supervisors, subordinates, and/or outside contacts.

Language Skills

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

Depending on the assignment, may require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information.

Work Environment

Work is performed indoors with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards.
