We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Finance team!

This is a full-time, remote position working M-F. Individuals must be able to work hours that coincide within the Central Time Zone.
This position reports to the Accounting Manager and will interact with customers, vendors, and other internal departments to include various levels of management.
Advanced Excel skills are required for this position, candidates who do not meet this qualification will not be considered.
This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy managing multiple priorities, organizing complex requests, and resolving issues creatively. This is a very fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
The candidate should be able to deliver on project commitments through leadership, teamwork, problem analysis/resolution, effective and constant communication, and productivity improvements.
Salary Range: $50,000-$60,000
Residency Requirements: Must be located in one of the 50 states of the United States or Washington DC. We cannot consider applicants outside of these areas and sponsorship is not available.

Full Job Description - Staff Accountant
Responsibilities may include the following:
AR Tasks:

  • Prepare weekly/monthly customer program billings and enter into QBO.
  • Review cost variances for assigned customer programs and follow up with the operations team or vendors to resolve discrepancies.
  • Apply customer payments to open invoices.
  • Complete retail store daily/weekly/monthly reconciliations and post journal entries to QBO.
  • Assist with month-end/year-end close duties.
  • Assist with profit and loss analysis for retail stores.
  • Various bank/balance sheet reconciliations as assigned.
  • Other projects as assigned.

AP Tasks:

  • Enter vendor invoices in QuickBooks Online and NetSuite.
  • Compose the data for statements, send the requests to vendors, verify accounts are matching, investigate any discrepancies.
  • Reconcile vendor accounts.
  • Pay vendor invoices via bills.com.
  • Support and work with AR team as needed.
  • Work directly with vendors to establish positive working relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Must have Advanced Excel skills (xlookups, pivot tables, etc.).
  • At least 2-3 years working in an accounting role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient using QuickBooks Online and NetSuite.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Able to thrive in and adapt to an extremely fast-moving, dynamic environment.
  • Must be able to take the initiative to complete tasks without being prompted.
