Job Description

Clarapath is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in our Hawthorne, NY 10532 location. We are looking to hire a highly motivated Staff Accountant who will manage general accounting and financial processes as the company undergoes rapid growth. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for all daily accounting tasks and reporting and will also perform financial transactions and post them in the general ledger. The successful candidate will ensure that the company’s finances are running smoothly.

What you’ll do:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following.

  • Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions
  • Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Maintain and balance accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies
  • Maintain general ledger, prepare a trial balance, and reconcile entries
  • Summarize financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements
  • Contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections
  • Perform close of day, month, and year-end processes and prepare required reports
  • Supervise and take ownership of the invoicing, returns & credits and the A/R collections processes
  • Work with the procurement department with an eye toward improving processes to reduce expenses
  • Respond to information requests, reviewing financial statements and assist with requirements by an outside accounting firm
  • Provide additional assistance as needed by executive management

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • BS or BA in accounting, finance, business or related field
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in accounting/financial analysis
  • Experience with standard concepts of GAAP accounting and practices and procedures within the accounting field
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
