Your Impact

As a Staff Accountant in Client Advisory Services, you'll support a diverse portfolio of business and nonprofit clients across West Michigan. In this role, you'll help clients maintain accurate financial information, streamline accounting processes, and make informed business decisions. Working closely with clients and experienced advisors, you'll gain exposure to a variety of industries while developing your technical accounting knowledge and consulting skills. How You Will Add Value

• Perform routine accounting functions and balance sheet reconciliations for client accounts
• Manage accounts payable processes and maintain vendor records
• Process payroll and payroll tax reporting activities
• Prepare and file sales and use tax returns accurately and on time
• Assist with annual information reporting requirements, including 1099 filings
• Develop proficiency in client accounting and workflow technologies, including QuickBooks Online, BILL, Gusto, and Asana
• Monitor project budgets, deadlines, and client expectations
• Communicate proactively with clients and internal team members to ensure excellent service delivery
• Support special accounting, reporting, and advisory projects as assigned

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field
• Completion of a previous accounting internship or relevant accounting experience
• Public accounting experience preferred
• Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
• Strong  analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Professional, personable, and client-focused demeanor
• Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to continuously learn
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Adaptability when working with clients across various industries
• Commitment to teamwork and delivering exceptional client service
• Ability to work additional hours during peak client and firm deadlines
