Verisk develops software products in the insurance industry, with major international companies as main customers. Based in the US, with offices in more than 30 countries, you would be working for a very important software development center in Málaga (Spain), as part of an internal, distributed software-development team.
As a senior software engineer you will be a key part of this team, and will work and collaborate with other developers, QA, DevOps, and business-oriented people located in multiple countries (US, UK, Spain,Australia and China). You will be involved in the entire software development cycle, from gathering requirements and designing new solutions, all the way to implementing and deploying them.
We are looking for someone passionate about technology, who is willing and able to become a benchmark for the team, as a technical specialist, as well as leading and growing other people.
• Be involved in the design and development of technical solutions to support business objectives, maintaining and extending existing ones.
• Mentor and contribute to the growth of more junior team members, providing technical leadership and guidance.
• Work together with non-technical stakeholders to define and design solutions.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices in the team and the company, as a proactive source of improvements.
• 8+ years of proven experience in software development and system maintenance.
• Extensive experience in software engineering using .NET web-related technologies:
ASP.NET, Entity Framework, unit testing libraries; modern frontend stacks such as React, Angular or Vue; and relational databases.
• Solid understand of software engineering principles, design patterns and best practices, with a pragmatic approach.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new and changing technologies, and willingness to learn and grow.
• Communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Being able to focus, recognize priorities, and take technical ownership.
• Familiarity with any of the major cloud environments. We work with AWS.
