Position 

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Research Associate 1 to join our dynamic research team. In this role, you will be a key contributor to cutting-edge research projects that bridge the gap between biology and technology. As a Senior Research Associate 1, you will leverage your expertise to design and execute complex experiments, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and drive the development of innovative solutions.

About You

The ideal candidate for this role possesses extensive hands-on experience in a variety of laboratory techniques, such as PCR, Western blotting, cell transfection, and microscopy, indicating their strong expertise in molecular and cell biology. Their ability to lead and manage complex experiments with meticulous attention to detail is evident, and they exhibit proficiency in data analysis software and tools commonly used in biological research. Excellent communication skills make them valuable team member, contributing to a collaborative scientific environment, and their demonstrated capability to work independently, drive research projects, and provide mentorship to junior team members is a clear asset. They are adaptable and responsive to evolving research priorities and challenges in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, execute, and lead complex in-vitro cellular experiments that leverage the synergy between biology and technology to support drug discovery efforts.
  • Effectively troubleshoot experiments, propose experimental alternatives, explore and introduce novel technologies and approaches.
  • Accountable for data analysis and data reporting, as well as presenting the data in different team meetings.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, providing insights and expertise to advance project objectives.
  • Document experimental procedures, results, and observations meticulously to maintain accurate records.
  • Stay current with the latest scientific breakthroughs and industry trends, integrating pertinent knowledge into research activities.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree with 2 years of experience, or Bachelor's with 4 years of related experience in Biology, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with in-vitro cellular and biochemical assays, including cell culture, western blotting, immunoprecipitation, ELISAs (MSD), reporter assays, flow cytometry, siRNA/shRNA knockdown, CRISPR-mediated genome editing, qPCR, lentivirus generation and transduction, RNA and DNA sequencing.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage complex experiments, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in utilizing scientific desktop tools/interfaces for data analysis and ability to mine public databases such as UCSC genome Browser, CBIO, GTex, and Oncoland etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling effective interaction with team members and contributing to a collaborative scientific environment.
  • Demonstrated capability to work independently, drive research projects, and provide mentorship to junior team members.
  • Experience in discovering, validating, and/or characterizing drug targets through genetic and/or pharmacological approaches is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated scientific acumen and mechanistic understanding of disease biology and experience in oncology and immuno-oncology drug development (small molecule and biologics) is highly desirable.

The expected salary range for this role is $97,000 to $106,400 depending on skills, competency, and the market demand for your expertise.
