About this Role:

The Reporting Visualization Lead turns project and program data into clear, accurate reporting that helps leaders make better decisions on a large aviation capital program. This person bridges project management, project controls, and the digital team, and works closely with program leaders, program directors, project managers (PMs), construction managers (CMs), and stakeholders to understand what they need to know and why. The role requires on-site support in Austin, Texas.

This is not a traditional data analyst role. We are looking for someone who understands how capital projects are delivered first, and data second: a person with strong Excel skills and a track record in project performance reporting. Power BI experience is a plus but not required; training and mentorship are available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Performance Reporting

  • Develop and maintain program and project performance reporting on cost, schedule, change, risk, and delivery workflows.
  • Translate project controls processes and leadership questions into meaningful metrics, KPIs, and exception-based reporting.
  • Identify leading indicators of cost exposure, schedule delay, and process bottlenecks (for example, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and approvals).
  • Provide both executive-level summaries and project-level detail, so users can move from the program view down to individual items.
  • Question reporting requests when the proposed metric does not answer the underlying business question.

Dashboards and Visualization

  • Design, build, and improve dashboards and reports in Excel and Power BI, applying consistent standards and program branding.
  • Lead the visual design of program reporting so information is easy to read, consistent, and fit for its audience.
  • Prioritize accuracy, usability, and decision value over report volume or visual complexity.
  • Prepare reporting content for governance, leadership, and stakeholder meetings.

Data Validation and Digital Team Collaboration

  • Serve as the functional liaison between project teams and the digital and data teams.
  • Define business requirements for data sources, integration, and reporting structures.
  • Validate reported data against source systems (such as Procore, Primavera P6, and the owner’s financial management system) and investigate inconsistencies.
  • Contribute to KPI definitions, data governance, and reporting standards.
  • Recommend improvements to source-system setup and data entry practices that improve reporting quality.
  • Dedicated digital resources support data integration and infrastructure; this role is not expected to build or maintain those on its own.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Continuous Improvement

  • Work with program leaders, program directors, PMs, CMs, and stakeholders to understand how reporting is used and what decisions it supports.
  • Review existing reports for gaps, redundancies, and misleading metrics, and retire reports that no longer add value.
  • Anticipate reporting needs as projects move through their lifecycle and as priorities change.
  • Reduce manual reporting effort and build confidence in program data.
  • Champion data-driven decision-making across program and project teams.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (essential): complex formulas, lookups, pivot tables, data cleanup, and analytical models.
  • Demonstrated experience in project performance or data reporting within a project management or project delivery environment (essential).
  • Capital project delivery experience, whether with an owner capital program, a contractor, or a designer; aviation or public infrastructure experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of project controls concepts: budgets, forecasting (EAC), change exposure, contingency, and schedule performance.
  • Experience with project management systems such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or Primavera P6.
  • Power BI, Power Query, or DAX experience is a plus; aptitude and willingness to learn is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, data analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Additional Requirements / Skills / Working Hours

  • On-site support required in Austin, Texas
  • Project sense: recognizes when the numbers do not match what is happening on the project.
  • Analytical curiosity: investigates the why behind trends and discrepancies.
  • Proactive: anticipates the next question and builds the answer before it is asked.
  • Clear communication with executives, PMs, CMs, controls staff, and technical developers.
  • Ownership of reporting accuracy, relevance, and usefulness, with eagerness to keep learning.

What's In It For You:

  • Comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, and vision)
  • Company-paid life and disability insurance
  • Optional benefits like pet insurance, legal, and supplemental health plans
  • 401(k) with day-one eligibility, 3% safe harbor, plus up to 2.5% company match
