AI at SharkNinja
At SharkNinja, we're building an AI-native culture. We're not waiting for the future; we're creating it. Our people are expected to experiment boldly, adopt new tools, and continuously raise what's possible to create meaningful impact for our consumers. If you believe the best way to do your job hasn't been invented yet, you'll fit right in.
Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk
Location: Needham, MA (Global Headquarters) | Function: Internal Audit | Reports to: VP, Internal Audit (Chief Audit Executive)
About the Role
SharkNinja's why is extreme consumer delight and unwavering trust. Internal Audit exists to protect the trust SharkNinja earns every day, providing independent, objective assurance and insight that helps the Company create, protect, and sustain value as it grows.
Our what is concrete: we facilitate the enterprise risk management program, execute risk-based business reviews (advisory and assurance), assess internal control over financial reporting (ICFR / SOX), and deliver rapid insights when the business needs them.
Our how sets us apart: behaviors rooted in trust, value, and grit; visible and accessible wherever the work happens; and every engagement framed through why, what, and how, qualified against the three lines so we complement the teams already on the risk instead of duplicating or conflicting. We're business partners and we operate on a simple promise: no surprises.
As Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk, you'll bring dedicated expertise to enterprise risk management, including insurable risk. You'll make total cost of risk visible, connect insurable risk to the enterprise risk picture IA facilitates, and bring management clear recommendations on how we retain and transfer risk. The line is simple: you facilitate and recommend; Treasury decides and binds.
You'll be part of a small senior human core, amplified by agentic AI teammates. This is a build, not a maintenance job. If you want to design how a fast-growing global company thinks about insurable risk, keep reading.
Here are some of the EXCITING things you'll get to do:
Facilitate the ERM program: put insurable risk on the radar
  • Bring insurable risk into SharkNinja's enterprise risk management process, mapping product liability and recall, property and supply chain, cyber, D&O, cargo, and international exposures to the enterprise risk picture, so both retained and transferred risk are visible.
  • Turn signals into action: when exposures shift (new retailers, new markets, new product categories), size what's changed and mobilize the right owners across the lines.
  • Feed coverage gaps and retained exposures into ERM reporting for the ELT and Audit Committee.

Make total cost of risk visible, and make it work in our favor
  • Build and maintain SharkNinja's total cost of risk view: premiums, retained losses, broker and carrier fees, and the internal cost of running the program.
  • Model the levers a full-time expert pulls (retention levels, limits, program structure, captive feasibility, and broker compensation) and bring Treasury clear options with a recommendation.
  • Track value capture with FP&A against an agreed baseline, so the business sees exactly what the program delivers.

Lead the renewal strategy and recommendation
  • Facilitate the annual renewal: set the calendar, convene Treasury, Legal, Accounting, Operations, and Cybersecurity, compile and quality-check underwriting data, and work alongside our broker on marketing strategy.
  • Deliver the renewal recommendation to Treasury, which approves and binds coverage. You own the analysis and the recommendation; management owns the decision.
  • Assess broker and carrier performance and compensation against market benchmarks.

Close the coverage gaps that matter
  • Reconcile insurance and indemnification requirements in major retailer and vendor agreements against our product liability and recall limits, and bring gaps to Legal and Treasury with a path to close them.
  • Assess the international program, including locally admitted placements across LATAM, EMEA, and APAC, as we grow into new markets.
  • Partner with Legal on product liability claims, bringing claims analytics, trends, and recovery opportunities that inform the next renewal.

Across everything
  • Work alongside agentic AI teammates that produce first drafts at machine speed (exposure analysis, contract reviews, total cost of risk models, renewal reporting) while you own the judgment and the recommendation.
  • Stay on the right side of the line: you advise and facilitate, but you don't instruct the broker, bind coverage, approve invoices, or operate SOX controls. Independent assurance over the insurance program comes from outside Internal Audit.
  • Communicate for impact, plainly, early, and grounded in business value. No surprises: issues reach leadership when we see them, not after.

How we'll measure success
  • Drive efficiencies in Year 1: identify and deliver insurance and total cost of risk efficiencies, validated with FP&A against an agreed baseline.
  • A benefit moving forward: net total cost of risk improvement in Year 2 and beyond, tracked with FP&A.
  • Savings never at the expense of protection: value is measured on total cost of risk, not premium alone, and every retention or limit change goes to Treasury with the coverage trade-off made explicit.
  • Coverage gaps closed: insurance requirements in top retailer agreements reconciled against our limits, with gaps remediated or accepted by management.
  • A recommendation-ready program: renewal strategy delivered to Treasury ahead of the next renewal cycle, plus a captive feasibility recommendation.

Attributes & Skills
  • 8+ years of progressive corporate risk and insurance, broker, or carrier experience with global program responsibility; consumer products, retail, or manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • Deep product liability and product recall expertise, with working command of property, cyber, D&O, and marine/cargo lines.
  • Multinational program design, including locally admitted placements and controlled master programs.
  • Strong total cost of risk analytics and financial modeling: retention and limit optimization, loss forecasting, and captive feasibility (a plus).
  • Contract risk transfer experience: insurance and indemnification requirements in customer and vendor agreements.
  • Claims strategy and recovery experience, partnering closely with Legal.
  • Broker and carrier management, including compensation benchmarking and marketing or RFP processes.
  • ARM, CPCU, or RIMS-CRMP strongly preferred; familiarity with COSO ERM or ISO 31000 a plus.
  • Comfortable advising rather than deciding, with the objectivity to give management the unvarnished trade-off. Willing to disclose any current or recent relationships with brokers or carriers.
  • AI fluency, or a genuine drive to build it. You'll work with agentic AI teammates daily. You're already using AI to work faster and smarter, or you're the person who signs up first to learn. Curiosity is non-negotiable.
  • Executive presence: you can hold your own in a room with a CFO, a broker, or a skeptical business leader, with unvarnished candor and zero ego.
  • A builder's mindset. Ambiguity doesn't slow you down. You bring structure where there isn't any, and you own outcomes without waiting to be told.

YOUR ROLE in leading our SUCCESS DRIVERS & our UNSTOPPABLE culture
  • Rarely Satisfied, you question whether we're paying for the right risk, not just paying less.
  • Progress Over Perfection, you get a baseline in place fast and refine it, rather than waiting for perfect data.
  • Details Make the Difference, one exclusion or one mismatched limit in a retailer contract is the difference. You find it.
  • Winning Is a Team Sport, you bring Treasury, Legal, Accounting, Operations, and Cybersecurity to one table, complementing the teams already on the risk.
  • Communicating for Impact, you turn coverage complexity into decisions leaders can make today. No surprises.
