SUMMARY
The Senior Engineering - Hydromechanical position is responsible for supporting the definition, specification, design, analysis, modification, testing, validation, certification, and integration of aircraft hydro-mechanical systems, including flight control, hydraulic, and landing gear systems. This role coordinates development activities with suppliers and internal engineering teams to ensure successful system design, certification, delivery, and technical resolution throughout each phase of product development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Support the integration of flight control, hydraulic, and/or landing gear systems through definition, specification, design, analysis, modification, testing, and certification activities
- Coordinate product development activities between system suppliers and affected work packages to support program objectives
- Ensure successful design, validation, certification, and delivery of assigned hydro-mechanical systems
- Author, review, and approve development phase deliverables, qualification documentation, certification reports, and technical presentations as required
- Identify, investigate, and resolve technical issues in a cross-functional engineering environment
- Review system design data, technical documentation, supplier analyses, and requirements compliance evidence for quality and completeness
- Validate and verify system requirements and performance through design reviews, analyses, rig testing, aircraft testing, and qualification activities
- Define, prepare, and execute qualification and certification tests in coordination with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Liaise with stress, loads, reliability, maintainability and safety, simulation, customer support, and operations support teams
- Comply with company policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE
- Strong knowledge of hydro-mechanical system design, integration, development, testing, and certification
- Knowledge of aircraft flight control, hydraulic, and landing gear systems and related system interfaces
- Working knowledge of airworthiness regulations, certification processes, qualification testing, and requirements verification
- Ability to review supplier analyses, technical documentation, design data, and certification evidence for quality and compliance
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required; experience with CATIA, Matlab, and Simulink is preferred

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field required
- Minimum of seven to ten years of relevant engineering experience required
- Experience with the design, integration, development, and certification of hydro-mechanical systems required
- Experience validating and verifying system requirements and performance through design reviews, analyses, rig testing, and aircraft testing required
- Experience preparing technical reports, presentations, qualification documentation, or certification reports preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer
- Repetitive use of the hands, wrists, and arms due to computer usage
- Work is primarily performed in an office or engineering environment with occasional exposure to test, laboratory, aircraft, or shop environments
- Short-term travel may be required to support testing, technical reviews, or project assignments

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- If a security clearance is required:
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearance requirements
- Successful candidates must be able to obtain required Program Access approval, if applicable
Skills Required
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of seven to ten years of relevant engineering experience

- Experience validating and verifying system requirements and performance through design reviews, analyses, rig testing, and aircraft testing
