Job DescriptionThis challenging role will involve the setup and maintenance of production database environments
Ü Good Knowledge on Windows NT servers, Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 servers (standard, enterprise & datacenter version)
Ü Provision of expert advice to application DBA and development teams amongst other responsibilities
Ü Experience on SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008 a plus
Ü SQL programming, Scripting and support
Ü Expert in setting up SQL Server high availability (Cluster, Replication, Mirroring and Log Shipping) feature for 24/7 production environment and troubleshooting
Ü Provide expertise in SQL database server design and capacity planning for new projects
Ü Should be able to evaluate/suggest the third party database tools based on need basis
Ü Proactive involvement in giving suggestion to optimize the current environment and the monitoring
Ü Good exposure on Installation, Configuration of database Cluster, Replication, Log shipping and Mirroring
Ü Good knowledge of different clustering solutions (Microsoft and VERITAS).
Ü Database Bug-fixing, troubleshooting and performance optimization
Ü Experience on database migrations, up gradation and patching - MUST
Ü Knowledge/experience on FOGLIGHT, LightSpeed and TSM
Ü Knowledge/experience with Disaster Recovery
Ü Able to perform SOX audit & knowledge/experience
Ü Quality and Process Orientation
Ü Exposure on audit tools will be an added advantage
Ü Knowledge on Incidents/Request and Change management process
Ü SQL DBA with 5/6 yrs of core DBA experience
Ü Good communication & customer handling capacity
Ü Must have Cluster experience
Ü Must have High Availability (H/A) experience (Log Shiping, Replication, Mirroring & Cluster)
Ü Good exposure in handling production system
Ü Must have experience in performance tuning of production database
Ü Handling team & understanding customer SLA & KPI
