About the Role 

The Solutions Engineer is responsible for supporting customer deployment success across unmanned systems and wireless networking integrations and will play a key role in enabling customers to successfully deploy Doodle Labs radios in real-world autonomous systems. 

In this role, you will work closely with robotics engineers, autonomy teams, field operators, firmware engineers, and customer program teams to integrate, validate, troubleshoot, and optimize wireless networking solutions across drones, UGVs, USVs, and other robotic platforms. This position will help shape customer deployment success, technical validation workflows, and field-driven product improvements as Doodle Labs continues to scale.

What You'll Do 

  • Become a technical expert in Doodle Labs radios, firmware, configuration tools, and deployment architectures 
    • Support customer integrations, platform testing, field evaluations, and troubleshooting efforts 
    • Test newly developed hardware and software against customer use cases including connected teams, UAVs, and unmanned systems 
    • Develop repeatable validation workflows for firmware updates, new features, and customer deployment scenarios 
    • Analyze wireless link performance, networking behavior, throughput, interference, mobility, and routing under real-world conditions 
    • Build and maintain software utilities, scripts, and troubleshooting tools that help customers configure and integrate radios 
    • Recreate customer deployment conditions in lab environments to validate configurations and replicate issues 
    • Maintain and improve customer-facing technical documentation including technical library articles, datasheets, configuration guides, and user documentation 
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and firmware teams to provide structured product feedback based on customer field experience 
    • Deliver technical reports summarizing findings, deployment recommendations, risks, and known issues 
    • Become a trusted technical advisor for high-value customers and support teams during mission-critical deployments and evaluations

    • Become a go-to technical expert on Doodle Labs radio systems, networking behavior, and deployment architectures within the first 3 months 
    • Successful customer platform integrations and field evaluations across unmanned systems deployments 
    • Improved product reliability through repeatable validation frameworks and structured testing workflows 
    • High-quality technical documentation and deployment guidance that reduce customer integration friction 
    • Effective collaboration with engineering and firmware teams to improve usability, configurability, and deployment tooling 
    • Measurable improvements in customer deployment success, troubleshooting efficiency, and field performance validation 

    Who You Are 

    • 3+ years of experience working with wireless communications, RF networking, embedded systems, or robotic platform integration 
    • Excited by autonomy, robotics, and defense missions that have real-world impact 
    • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and troubleshooting 
    • Comfortable working in Linux environments and administering embedded or networking systems 
    • Knowledgeable in wireless fundamentals including RF propagation, antennas, link budgets, and Wi-Fi systems 
    • Experience building software utilities, scripts, or automation tools to support technical workflows 
    • Skilled at diagnosing complex system interactions across RF, networking, compute, and control systems 
    • Comfortable working directly with customers in collaborative, high-pressure field environments 
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical complexity into actionable guidance 
    • Curious, self-driven, and motivated by solving difficult real-world engineering problems 
    • Ability to work cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a fast-paced environment 

    Preferred Qualifications 

    • Experience working with drones, robotics, autonomous systems, or defense technologies 
    • Experience supporting field deployments, flight testing, or robotic platform integration 
    • Familiarity with wireless mesh networking and unmanned system communications architectures 
    • Experience developing customer-facing technical documentation and deployment guides 
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field

    Travel Expectations
