Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Vice President, Engineering Manager to lead Finance and Operations Technology platforms. The role owns architecture, delivery, and platform reliability for enterprise-grade finance systems, including process automation, data infrastructure, and integrations with the firm’s general ledger ecosystem.

The ideal candidate operates as a player-coach: leading engineers, partnering with business stakeholders, guiding technical direction, and staying close enough to the work to unblock teams and solve complex problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering strategy, architecture, delivery, scalability, reliability, and operational performance for Finance and Operations Technology platforms.

  • Drive the technical design and implementation of proprietary finance oversight and process automation systems supporting accounting, fund operations, reporting, and regulatory workflows.

  • Partner with Finance, Treasury, Operations, Data Engineering, and technology stakeholders to shape requirements, priorities, and roadmap trade-offs.

  •  Operate as a player-coach by managing and mentoring engineers while remaining hands-on in solution design, architecture reviews, delivery planning, and complex problem solving.

  • Establish and enforce engineering best practices across system design, code quality, CI/CD, testing automation, observability, security, and production operations.

  • Drive modernization initiatives across cloud, microservices, APIs, workflow orchestration, and distributed systems architecture.

  • Oversee integration across general ledger platforms, data warehouses, ETL pipelines, reporting infrastructure, and downstream operational systems.

  • Collaborate with Information Security and Risk teams to ensure platforms meet internal controls, audit requirements, regulatory standards, and cybersecurity best practices.

  • Improve operational maturity through monitoring, incident management, performance optimization, capacity planning, and disaster recovery readiness.

  • Recruit, retain, and develop top engineering talent while creating strong career development pathways across the organization.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in software engineering, enterprise platform development, or financial systems technology, including significant engineering leadership experience.

  • Proven experience leading teams that deliver enterprise-grade finance, accounting, treasury, or fund operations technology platforms.

  • Strong hands-on background in application architecture, distributed systems, APIs, cloud-native development, platform engineering, and modern delivery practices.

  • Experience managing senior stakeholder expectations, clarify ambiguity, and make pragmatic trade-offs while maintaining technical reliability.

  • Deep understanding of enterprise systems integration, including general ledger platforms, ETL frameworks, data warehousing technologies, and financial reporting systems.

  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated testing, observability, DevSecOps, and production operations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in private equity, asset management, alternative investments, or financial services.

  • Familiarity with fund accounting, treasury operations, financial controls, and regulatory reporting.

  • Experience with modern cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Background working with enterprise financial platforms such as SAP, Oracle Financials, Workday Financials, or proprietary ledger systems.

  • Experience leading globally distributed engineering organizations and large-scale technology transformation programs.

  • Strong understanding of data governance, financial controls, and enterprise security frameworks.

Expected annual base salary range:

$176,250 - $250,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the role consist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone’s sole discretion.
