Software Engineer – Workday Financials
Location: Hybrid | Experience: 4–8 years
About the Role
We are hiring a Software Engineer to design, build, and support Workday Financials capabilities for our internal enterprise systems — covering financial accounting, procurement, and reporting workflows. You'll work at the intersection of engineering and finance operations, building integrations and extending Workday's platform to meet enterprise needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain integrations between Workday Financials and upstream/downstream systems (using Workday Studio, EIBs, Core Connectors, or REST/SOAP APIs)
- Configure and extend Workday Financials modules (GL, AP, AR, Procurement, Projects, or Expenses)
- Build and maintain custom reports, calculated fields, and business process configurations
- Partner with Finance stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Support release management — testing and validating Workday's biannual updates against custom configurations
- Troubleshoot integration failures and production issues; own resolution end-to-end
- Write clean, well-documented code and contribute to CI/CD pipelines for integration deployments
Requirements
Required Skills
- 3+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 1–2 years hands-on with Workday Financials (configuration and/or integrations)
- Proficiency with Workday Studio, EIB, Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST), and XSLT
- Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or similar languages for custom integration development
- Understanding of core financial processes (GL, procurement, AP/AR)
- Experience with API-based integration patterns and middleware (e.g., MuleSoft, Dell Boomi) is a plus
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery practices
Nice to Have
- Workday Pro certification (Financials or Integrations)
- Experience in a large, global enterprise with multi-entity/multi-currency financial operations
