As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank in Global Banking Technology, your goal is to ensure that our applications work as they should and meet customers' needs. You'll draw on your testing knowledge and creativity to automate test capabilities and design test and maintenance procedures. You'll also tap our existing test frameworks to tackle specific problems. We take a collaborative approach to quality, which means you'll work with experienced developers, managers and business partners across the organization. You'll receive coaching, mentorship, and continuous feedback to help you become an even better technologist and professional.
Job responsibilities
- Create new Manual Test Cases and upload the same into ALM Tools.
- Create new test automation scripts and ensure their ongoing maintenance and execution as required.
- Develop automation scripts in alignment with the existing test automation framework. Incorporate or update features within the framework based on guidance from technical leads.
- Work closely with developers, managers, and other stakeholders to gather all necessary information for effective test case automation.
- Design and implement automated API test suites in Java using REST Assured
- Maintain test cases and document test execution results using QTEST
- Log and track defects using the ALM tool, ensuring timely resolution and communication.
- Conduct peer reviews of automation code developed by other engineers to uphold quality standards.
- Participate in coaching, mentorship, and receive ongoing feedback to support professional growth.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on Quality Assurance concepts and 2+ years applied experience
- Proven ability to write automated tests in Java/ TypeScript/ Python using Playwright, Selenium
- Good understanding of Object Repositories, XPATHs etc
- Expertise in at least one programming language : Java or Python or TypeScript
- Strong proficiency in Java and hands-on experience building automated API tests using REST Assured
- Expertise in JIRA and ALM Tools like QTEST
- Should have knowledge of automation framework integration with CI/ CD Tools like Jenkins
- Detailed understanding of common defect and data-management tools
- Advanced knowledge of software lifecycles, including Waterfall and Agile, and test automation strategies
- Experience working effectively with teams and stakeholders to develop relationships and achieve common goals
- Working knowledge of using Databases
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Full stack Java developer experience in enterprise application development
- Strong experience in SDLC delivery in Agile methodologies
- At least two years experience in Java 17+
- Experience developing microservices, packaged into AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service and/or Elastic Container Service, and deployed to EC2 instances
- Experience writing Terraform scripts and deploying in AWS production environment
- Experience in at least one relational database management system (preferably Oracle or PostgreSQL)
Skills Required
