The ePlane Company is at the forefront of India's urban air mobility revolution. Incubated at IIT Madras, we are a deep-tech startup dedicated to designing and building the world's most compact electric flying taxi. Our mission is to make door-to-door flying a reality, drastically reducing commute times and decongesting our cities for a cleaner, greener future. We're a passionate team of engineers, designers, and visionaries working on cutting-edge technology, and we're looking for brilliant minds to help us take flight.
We are looking for a person with an understanding of the tooling and lifecycle of aerospace software systems algorithms including taking them from prototype to production. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring aircraft configuration compliance with required regulatory, Industry, and organisation requirements. You will bridge the gap between modern software development, rigorous safety critical compliance, and Gen AI-driven coding. This also involves work that makes our entire CI/CD pipeline from general software services to safety-critical AI/ML models robust, scalable, compliant, and qualified for regulated engineering processes. In addition, the person will also work as a focal point for configuration baselining, Change Management tracking, and ensuring airborne software is fully defined, traceable, and auditable
Baseline Control: Establish, maintain, and audit software configuration baselines, build records, and release packages for airborne and ground-support software.
Execute Software Quality Assurance (SQA) activities and audits across certification and production programs (airborne and non-airborne software), including process improvements, lifecycle audits, and compliance verification
Manage and maintain Software Quality Assurance records in accordance with applicable standards including DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754B
Conduct internal audits of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes, data, and traceability to ensure regulatory compliance and identify process gaps
Perform Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations for internal nonconformities, documenting findings and recommending systemic improvements
Change Control Board (CCB): Facilitate the Change Control Board process, tracking Change Requests (CRs) from inception to deployment.
Establish and operate a recurring governance review process across all deployed capabilities
CI/CD Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain secure, automated Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines
Automated Testing Integration: Integrate static code analysis, unit testing, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing tools directly into the build pipeline.

What We Do
We're developing India’s 1st flying electric taxi for up to 10x faster intra-city commute and cargo transport. Incubated at IIT Madras, Chennai since 2019, The ePlane Company was founded by Professor Satya Chakravarthy with a vision to make flying ubiquitous. As an Urban Air Mobility (UAM) startup, we aim to alleviate on-road traffic congestion in cities worldwide by offering safe, sustainable and affordable flying experiences through our flagship product, The ePlane e200.
