SkillBridge - Solutions Engineer / Mission Success Intern
(Public Sector – Defense & National Security)

Summary of Position

We are looking for a Solutions Engineer / Mission Success Intern to support our engagement with the U.S. government and other public sector customers, with a focus on the national security sector. Solutions Engineers at Fraym use their technical skills and industry knowledge to work with our current and prospective customers and identify how Fraym’s data and technology can solve their problems.

In this dual-capability role, you will bridge the gap between technical spatial data execution and commercial growth strategy. You will work directly with Department of War (DoW) customers—primarily Combatant Commands (CCMDs), Joint Staff directorates (J39, J2, J5, etc.), and specialized units—to integrate Fraym’s advanced geospatial data into operational decision-making platforms.

Beyond technical execution, you will assist on key Go-To-Market (GTM) initiatives. This includes facilitating contract renewal strategies, identifying account expansion vectors, and driving account retention alongside our Information Advantage leads and account teams.

This role is a hybrid role based out of Fraym's office in Arlington, VA, however remote work can be considered.

About Fraym

Fraym is a geospatial data company that uses advanced machine learning to deliver precise, local-level human geography information around the world. Fraym helps companies, government agencies, and development organizations succeed in places where data has been traditionally hard to access, and enables commanders and analysts to “zoom in” with hyperlocal fidelity to extract unprecedented insights regarding economic, social, demographic, and behavioral characteristics to achieve Decision Dominance.

Key Responsibilities

  1. GTM & Account Growth
  • Contract Renewals & Retention: Identify the technical health and renewal strategy for assigned Combatant Command and public sector accounts, ensuring zero contract churn.
  • Account Expansion & Lateral Growth: Identify new operational use cases within current accounts to expand footprint from primary touchpoints into adjacent areas.
  • Growth Campaign Execution: Partner directly with Account leads on sales calls, proposal drafting, procurement initiatives, and project execution.

  1. Technical Solutions & Mission Integration
  • Data Integration: Guide military customers through ingesting Fraym’s 1km2 data into operational workflows (e.g., planning processes, assessment plans, Target Audience Analysis).
  • Requirements Gathering: Conduct deep operational discovery with military stakeholders to translate complex Commander’s Intent, campaign plans, and/or Lines of Effort into configured data solutions.
  • RFI Surge Support: Assist in rapidly scoping and delivering custom human geography data packages and associated analytical reporting in response to urgent operational Requests for Information (RFIs) during key events.

  1. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Tactical Execution: Operate across teams at Fraym (e.g., Analytics, Product, Data Science), providing an operational bridge between client-facing sales strategy and back-end data/product production.
  • Internal Product Feedback: Act as a voice of the Defense customer to Fraym, shaping future product roadmaps based on real-world theater requirements.

Qualifications

  • Prior operational experience within Joint Staff environments, Combatant Commands, Information Operations, Intelligence, or Operational Planning preferred
  • Demonstrated experience communicating complex ideas, including the ability to translate data to insight, for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong commercial instinct with an appetite to drive account renewal metrics, spot expansion opportunities, and execute client retention strategies
  • Comfortable working with geospatial data concepts (GIS, spatial analysis, demographic modeling) and translating complex quantitative data into actionable military briefings
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Demonstrated ability to brief senior military leadership and write clear, concise operational case studies, user stories, and proposal inputs
  • Commitment to grow the company and make an outsized impact on public sector decision-making
  • U.S. citizen with an active Secret security clearance (TS strongly preferred)

What We Offer

  • Drive real-world outcomes across Combatant Commands by putting mission-critical human geography directly into the hands of warfighters to inform strategic deterrence and joint operational planning.
  • Be at the forefront of defense technology by leveraging advanced machine learning to transform massive, complex human data into granular spatial insights, giving operators true decision dominance in the cognitive domain
  • Direct hands-on experience transitioning your military operational experience and domain expertise into the rapidly growing commercial Defense Tech sector
  • A structured environment to master technical solutions engineering, contract renewal execution, and expansion strategy within major DoW portfolios

Skills Required

  • Prior operational experience within Joint Staff environments, Combatant Commands, Information Operations, Intelligence, or Operational Planning
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas and translate data into insights for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong commercial instinct and willingness to drive account renewals, identify expansion opportunities, and execute retention strategies
  • Comfort working with geospatial data concepts, including GIS, spatial analysis, and demographic modeling
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
