TransFICC is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer to provide high-performance services to our customers. We develop an integration service product that enables our clients to have a flexible, hosted service without requiring their internal resources to respond to connectivity challenges across trading venues.
You will be joining our SRE team and contributing to TransFICC’s automation culture. We are a multi-disciplinary team covering everything from desktop and laptop support to data centre provisioning of servers and vendor network connectivity.
We all have areas we are stronger in, but we all share responsibility for the entire environment. We are seeking someone like-minded who can contribute to our team while also learning from us.
About the Role – Your mission will be:
Building out the automated provisioning of TransFICCs servers and networks both in physical environments and Cloud, i.e. AWS, GCP
Evolving our Continuous Delivery pipeline for provisioning servers and switches, and deploying software.
Interacting with hardware vendors, telecom providers, and financial institutions
What we are looking for:
Need to know how to code. You don’t need to be an expert, but basic programming in your language of choice is required - you need to be able to build a program.
Everything we configure at TransFICC is automated, so having experience with a software automation tool like Ansible and coding ability is a must.
We are looking for someone experienced as a sys admin or network engineer; however, you must have a reasonable understanding of both.
Constructive, open-minded and self-motivated. A belief in life learning, and an awareness of how much there still is to learn.
Appreciate autonomy and be able to take the initiative.
Experience managing 3rd parties via email and phone, negotiating with vendors, purchasing hardware and enabling remote work.
Whilst not essential, it would be great if you had some of the following:
Authentication Protocols, i.e. SAML, OAuth2, AD, Kerberos
Microsoft/Azure Active Directory
Database HA - Clustering/replication, e.g. Postgres
Skills Required
- Basic programming ability in a language of choice

What We Do
TransFICC is an e-trading technology company, providing connectivity and workflow solutions for banks and asset managers operating in the Fixed Income and Derivatives markets. Its "One API for eTrading" product provides clients with an alternative to maintaining connectivity with multiple e-trading venues. By delivering low-latency, scalable and secure connectivity, TransFICC resolves the issues of market fragmentation, market data throughput, and increased regulation. TransFICC does three things: - It translates Execution Venue API’s to a single API. Clients connect once to TransFICC's unified API, and TransFICC manages connectivity with the electronic venues from that point. - It uses low-latency, scalable and secure technology, essential to keep pace with price updates and not get beaten to a trade by high frequency trading firms. - It provides timestamps for price and order messages. Measured in microseconds, timestamps record when data arrives at the bank or asset manager, helping to provide an audit trail, which supports Best Execution.
