Principle duties and essential functions
Lead die-level DC and RF testing of active and passive silicon photonic devices
Die and evaluation board (EVB)-level testing, FMA, DVT of monolithically integrated silicon photonic – RFIC subsystems and coherent silicon photonics transceivers
Die-level DC and RF testing of active III-V devices (edge emitting lasers and VCSELs)
Perform reliability tests on optical components and modules (e.g. GR-468)
Provide high-quality and precision measurement data to silicon photonic, firmware, RFIC and laser design teams
Implement and continuously optimize automatic tests where appropriate, build and improve test stations when needed
Develop and properly maintain required ATE SW in Git or similar SW version control tools
Provide layout and test implementation feedback to respective design teams in order to speed up testing and increase utilization of test automation
Provide internal input into design, NPI, manufacturing and quality management teams
Plan testing schedules with respect to development roadmap and foundry tapeout schedules
Supervise and train company engineering staff in DC-, RF-, and optoelectrical measurement methods and best practices
Knowledge, skills and experience required
PhD or MS in electrical engineering, physics or a relevant field
In-depth knowledge of semiconductor physics and electromagnetics
In-depth knowledge of optical communications theory and digital communications theory
Expertise and experience in testing active and passive optoelectronic devices and integrated photonic circuits die-level, module-level and system-level
Solid knowledge and experience with test automation
Understanding of device reliability and module-level qualification of products
Excellent work ethic and ‘can do’ attitude
