Job Summary
KeenStack is seeking a highly skilled ServiceNow HAM/SAM Technical Developer with expertise in SaaS and Cloud Infrastructure environments. In this role, you will design, configure, and scale our Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM Pro) modules to manage our cloud-first footprint. You will bridge the gap between IT Asset Management (ITAM) processes and technical execution. Your primary focus will be building automation, designing integrations with multi-cloud platforms and SaaS vendors, and optimizing our Cloud CMDB to ensure complete asset visibility, automated spend defense, and continuous license compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Cloud & SaaS Asset Management: Configure and maintain ServiceNow SAM Pro and HAM modules specifically optimized for cloud assets, virtual infrastructure, and SaaS applications (e.g., AWS, Azure, Microsoft 365, Salesforce).
- Integration Engineering: Design, build, and maintain automated API connections between ServiceNow and cloud provider portals, SaaS identity management systems (e.g., Okta), and procurement platforms using ServiceNow IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP APIs, and IntegrationHub Spoke extensions.
- Workflow Automation: Develop business rules, script includes, client scripts, UI policies, and Flow Designer actions to automate the full SaaS lifecycle—from automated provisioning and profile synchronization to license reclamation.
- Cloud CMDB Alignment: Maintain precise alignment between Cloud Asset Management and the CMDB. Troubleshoot cloud discovery errors, Cloud Management Network mappings, pattern errors, and SaaS subscription normalization.
- Spend Optimization & Reclamation: Configure automated software counters, custom SaaS license metrics, and subscription models to proactively surface cost-saving reclamation opportunities, underutilized licenses, and compliance risks.
- Reporting & FinOps Collaboration: Build real-time analytics, Performance Analytics dashboards, and executive reports to monitor cloud asset health, SaaS spend trends, and vendor compliance to support corporate FinOps initiatives.
Required Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of dedicated development experience on the ServiceNow platform, with at least 2 years heavily focused on ServiceNow Cloud Insights, SAM Pro, and HAM modules.
- SaaS & Cloud Acumen: Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts (compute resources, storage tiers, virtual appliances) and complex SaaS licensing metrics (user-based, consumption-based, tiered subscriptions).
- Scripting Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of JavaScript, ServiceNow Glide API, HTML/CSS, JSON, and XML.
- Integration Expertise: Proven track record building robust cloud API integrations utilizing ServiceNow IntegrationHub, Import Sets, Robust Data Filtering, and Transform Maps.
Certifications
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) (Required)
- Certified Implementation Specialist – Software Asset Management (CIS-SAM) (Preferred)
- Certified Implementation Specialist – Hardware Asset Management (CIS-HAM) (Preferred)
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) (Preferred)
- Cloud Platform Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals) (Plus)
