Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for a senior software engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor you will be part of a leading team to drive and enhance AMD's abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading technologies to market.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate possesses an innovative and problem-solving mindset, has a keen eye for Software engineering development, and is diligent and passionate about Technology. A successful candidate will need to employ strong knowledge in computer technologies, leadership skills in technical areas, and SW engineering expertise as well as a strong ability to compete effectively in a fast-paced, relevant environment while working with different teams of engineers and collaborators.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engaging with software partner architects and engineers to jointly work on performance optimizations, develop benchmarking plans, develop technical collateral (presentations, whitepapers, etc.) to position ML compiler in target market segments, and co-develop joint partner demos and proof-points. The role may also work with partners to create SOW for implementations as needed.
  • Interact with Customers, helping them converge on their critical design needs
  • Drive successful Adoption of AMD AI Engine tool flows by working closely with key customers, AMD Marketing, Vitis Engineering, and Field Specialists.
  • Work with Tech Marketing and Applications Engineering to understand customer needs and accordingly architect new features
  • Stay informed of software and hardware trends and innovations, especially pertaining to algorithms and architecture
  • Work with Architecture team to design next gen ML solutions

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in a field associated with machine learning algorithms and frameworks
  • Expertise with Deep Neural Network architectures like CNN, RNN, LLM etc.
  • Expertise with AI framework like Pytorch, Tensorflow, Caffe, etc.
  • Knowledge of Acceleration Platform like GPU, TPU, APU, AIE, FPGAs.
  • Strong SW programming skills (C++ and/or Python)
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Experience in optimizing Machine Learning application for a target architecture
  • Experience with quantization techniques is a plus
  • Team player with ability to work across a diverse team, also cross-functionally and in geographically distributed teams.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
